Guys please go through the discussion in the pagalguy thread and please throw some light on the reality of Rotman. On the face of it the discussion would scare people away from Rotman. Any Rotman grads around here can clarify please with greater insights.

R2 applicant from India here. Submitted the app on Jan 13, invited to interview on 29 Jan. Interviewed in Delhi with a member of the admissions committee on Feb 5.

Interview was very conversational and friendly. Mostly regular questions about my role, goals, and why MBA/Rotman. Scheduled to last 30 minutes, but I think it went a bit longer than that. Was asked a couple of questions that required some thinking on the spot -- a leader I admire and why, a time when I creatively solved a problem, and about a time I resolved a disagreement with a colleague.

Was told I would hear back before the end of Feb (think she said they would release decisions on something like 25th Feb, but I'm not sure so don't hold me to that!)

My interview happened yesterday. I guess, went well. Lasted close to 45 minutes. When do you think realistically I could get to know the outcome? Questions were typical - why MBA, challenging situation, leadership experiences etc.

Hi everybody,
I had the interview today by the phone. I think I completely messed up it since it is extremely difficult to speak and to not see the reaction and the emotions of the person on the other end of the line. Also the connection was sometimes bad.
The questions were standard and behavioural:
Why mba? Why Rotman? Tell me about the time when you came up with the innovative idea? Do you think you are the good leader and why? Tell me about the time when you faced a challenge? Tell me about a time when you had to achieve a goal?

I am not overtly concerned about this. Sounds like the guy who posted it didnt do his due diligence. When everyone at the interview made the networking efforts, he only found about it when it was too late.
It doesn't matter where you go, you have to do the groundwork.
The businessweek's low ranking is what concerns me. Schulich's also in there. Probably has to do with Toronto as a region.

Congratulations to everyone who has been admitted so far, and good luck to anyone who is still waiting to hear back! I was fortunate enough to be admitted to both Rotman and Schulich yesterday morning with scholarships offered at each.

Now I have kind of a tough decision to make though. Does anyone have any strong feelings on the Rotman vs. Schulich debate? I'm hoping to become a consultant specializing in brand and marketing.

Hi Sreister,
They said that Skype is not very god because of the connection. Probably it makes sence since I am in Russia and the Inernet connection between continents might be awful. I am affraid, I can not share the name of AdCom member since many schools say that this process is confidential. I think that doing so would be incorrect from my side.

I had the interview at 9:30 a.m. (Toronto time) - in Moscow it was 18:30. The AdCom member told me that at the end of the day it would be the admission committee. So, after midnight (Moscow time) I got the unofficial e-mail that they offered me a spot on the programm and that I will get official papers in a couple of weeks.
I wish good luck to all invited to the interview!

if the turnaround is this quick, they might be interviewing till very close to feb21. gives us folk some hope.

Hi,

Could you please let me know how you got notified? Till now i didn't receive the invite or any decision, I'm an R2 applicant and lost all my hope.

Is there any place in application portal i could see what is happening. only status i see is complete.

applied on 13th Jan and status changed on 22nd Jan.

But how did you know about the result?? Did you get a mail from the school or did you contact the admissions committee???

In the same boat you are in, Chetan. My application was marked complete only on the 30th. With less than 10 days to go it is beginning to get stressful.

They are increasing intake this year. So, not many intl. students being invited so far in R2 should mean we are not out of it, yet. Right?

They did not tell anything about the date when I need to confirm. I guess all this information will be mentioned in the official package.
