Are you guys emailing Yoko or one of the admission directors?

If you're emailing Yoko, I hope you know that she's the admissions administrator for all Rotman's programs. She might not know specifically what's going on for the Full-Time stream, although if it's a big deal like being behind schedule she'd know, but I don't think she would know what's going on with each application.

If you're emailing an admissions director, I hope you realize that your communications with them at any point, either face-to-face at events or via email, are all under consideration when deciding if you get accepted or not. Multiple emails day after day asking for the status of your application won't be a good thing, especially if you need that scholarship because they know you want in and they have no reason to give you that incentive to come. Also, the time it takes for them to read an email and respond could've been spent on an application (could have been yours).

Anyway, just saying. Just my two cents. Don't want people to give adcom the wrong impression. I'm sure they know you're all anxious to hear back.

I agree with you. Your reasoning makes sense. However, with no information from the school about the admissions would make applicants like me to try all sorts to get the information  .

Congrats on your admit...

Regards,
Chetan

rejection email today, honestly not surprised given the interview I had, extremely unprofessional on the part of my interviewer. One of those situations where you can feel someone doesn't like you the second you walk in a room. I got the sense of arrogance when I walked through Rotman's, the interview did nothing but strengthen this fact. Based on how things progressed I wouldn't have accepted Rotman anyways, e-mail stated work experience was the reason but I highly doubt it.

Hi Haqsha,

Can you please elaborate on your experience, what was the location of your interview, did you go on campus and what did you see or feel there?
It would help applicants who haven't had the chance to visit the campus.

Hi everyone. I have a few questions:

Does the "application complete" message appear on the main page when you log in?

Has anyone heard back regarding the Problem Solving Challenge?

If someone's application is complete today, is there any point to submitting before March 3rd?

Thanks.

Mine has the application information:
  • Create a Profile: Created on: [date]
  • Start an Application: Started on: [date]
  • Complete an Application: Completed on: [date]
  • Submit Supplemental items: #/# required items received

I don't think anyone has. They have to review around 200 entrants, and those 200 are judged against each other. So if you haven't heard back, no one has. The notification date is this Friday, February 28.

You mean you're aiming for the Round 3 deadline and you've finished your application today? If you're confident it's complete (as in you've read over your essays a few times, you're happy with your GMAT score, etc.) then I see no reason to delay. My understanding is that the sooner you submit, the sooner you'll hear back. However, several people in this thread have mentioned that the adcom from Rotman has notified them that they're behind schedule, and are spending this week the last few Round 2 applications, so I don't think you'll hear back until next week at the earliest.

Great, thanks. I was a bit confused because some people were reporting a different "submission date" and "application marked complete" date.

Yup, I understand that we'll all know by Friday. I was just curious if perhaps someone had already heard back. Guess not.

Right, I'm targeting Round 3. I was trying to understand whether the adcom would look at a Round 3 application *before* the actual Round 3 deadline. Oh well, it's a moot point anyway. No use sitting on it.

Thanks for your help.

Got a mail from Lynda. She says due to the excessive travelling and numerous applications, process has been slightly delayed. So for all you guys still waiting. Stay strong! :)

I think they do, as long as they don't have leftover applications from the previous Round. I wouldn't be surprised if they even invite you for an interview before the deadline, but then again the deadline is pretty soon...

I sent an email to Rotman inquiring about my application and I got the below reply.

Quote:
Thank you for your email. Since the file had an unofficial transcript, a decision date for the 21st was not possible. The admissions committee is working hard on reviewing your file with the unofficial transcript, but you will have to wait a few more weeks for a decision.

We thank you for your patience.

I just checked out the Rotman building. It definitely has some "wow" factor because it's so new. It's definitely better going to the school with the new facilities now instead of attending during construction and thinking you are paying tutition so the class behind you can get all of the perks. The classrooms had flat screens and tons of white-board space (I didn't see any chalk - i hate that stuff). Lots of study spaces with whiteboards too. I would guess during exam time that they book up though. The capital markets lab was nice too.

My point is ultimately that Rotman definitely gives off a nice vibe that you are getting what you pay for.

I'd recommend selling a story. Rather than trying to predict your interviewer's questions, come up with three to four of your life stories that could be used for any situation. One life story can be adapted for time management question, or a crisis management question. Just be ready with these selling points.

They typically suggest a time, to which you reply if that works or not. If it doesn't, you can suggest a range of other possible times, but note that these are usually booked too, so if you don't take up the suggested time, you might be interviewing much later.

Hi Shreister. Congrats on the interview invite. My advice would be to atleast be prepared with basic questions such as what do you do at work, strengths, weaknesses, hobbies and how you will contribute to the class etc. Just write down clearly on a piece of paper what you wish to say and practice it in front of a mirror or with someone, so that you don't ramble when asked in the interview. Besides that, be aware that whatever you say or talk about as that can and most probably will be followed with a counter question to check your knowledge on the same. Skype interviews, I would say are tougher as it's strange to look into the camera and talk and see your own self as well. Plus there are some connection issues sometime which may not allow you to hear what the other person is saying, so be in a strong WIFI area. All the best!
