Got a reply today, I've been waitlisted after my interview. Has anyone else been waitlisted and what can a person do to move from the wait list and get an admit? This really dashes my hopes of getting a scholarship.

Call admission team or someone who is in touch with you throughout your application process and discuss the reason for waitlist and ask for suggestions on how to address the concern raised by admission team, if any.

Who else made it through Round 2 of the RPSC? Which industry did you choose to discuss?

I did. I guess I should submit my application...

My essay talked about not-for-profit public libraries. How about you? Which industry did you focus on?

Even I have been waitlisted. It sucks big time. No news on RPSC though. I guess my essay wasn't strong enough.

Applied Jan 12, interviewed mid Feb and got my admit the next day. The process was a lot of fun overall.

whoa, that's one fast turnaround.

I was told at the end of my interview that my decision would be available after one week.

not so great buddy... Already got 2 dings after interview..but i was really hoping that i would get a positive result from Rotman.. discussed with adcom members in pre mba interview and in mba tour events... It was great and positive discussion....but my questions about placements after mba over series of mails to adcom members might have done some damage... don't really know where i went wrong ..:(

But still waiting for official result about my status...

Regards,
Chetan

Nope. No word on challenge yet.

gchetansharma you seem to be applying to some really good schools...how are your applications going? Rotman is probably one of your fallbacks if I am not mistaken.. (don't mind me... just making small talk to pass the time)

Does anyone else - whether through to Round 2 or not - want to share their chosen industry for the RPSC? I would be interested in hearing some other examples. (Apologies if this is the wrong forum for such discussion, but I figure there's no harm...)

I chose to write about the dying Indian handloom sector. How profits are earned only by traders and middlemen leaving the actual contributors (weavers' societies/ handloom garment makers ) starving and dying. Spoke about this top heavy industry crumbling from the bottom and how to reform govt norms to educate these weavers' societies and use the advent of modern technology to represent themselves on social media to boost direct sales at a much affordable lower cost.

I talked about the pharmaceutical industry.

Has anyone noticed that the email said the top presenter will get a scholarship of $5,000? Weird thing is that the Rotman Problem Solving Challenge website says the scholarship for top presenter is $10,000. Hmm...

Mr B,

The over-all winner (sum of R2 scores and R3 scores) of RPSC will be awarded a $100k scholarship.

But, the winner of R3 presentation round (where all those who have made it to R2 are allowed to present their submissions) will be given a cool $5k (not so cool if we look at the other figure).
