Hi All,
I took GMAT online and offline in the last 3 days and have been somewhat disappointed in myself during both attempts. With limited time to prepare, I'd like to ask for some advise on how to proceed.
First of all, I just took the offline one today and the preliminary scores are: 730 (V40, Q49, IR8). I'm very disappointed with my verbal score and definitely believe I can do significantly better. Quant is the section I always struggle with, and my score here is within the range of what I normally could score, but with better preparation and luck, I may also improve 1 point there. With AWA, I was pretty upset by that point and didn't do the best time management; I didn't have time to finish the last sentence of my essay and didn't have time to proof read. I'm really not sure what the score would be for that section. I really want something 760+. Do you think I should cancel this score?
I took the GMAT online version 2 days ago, but with so many technical difficulties and interruptions, I really have no idea how I did. And that awful online experience was what prompted me to book the offline test today. I understand the online score cannot be cancelled, and I have 48 hours to decide on whether or not to cancel my offline score. This means within this period, I probably won't know how I did on Awa offline or how I did overall online.
Should I go ahead and cancel, since I can reinstate my score later anyways? So far I've read all the
Manhattan Prep materials and Kaplan 800 material, I finished the OG Difficult 300. I took maybe 10 quant mocks from GMATCLUB and took 5 official CATs:
1: 680 (Q47, V36, IR4) - zero prep
2: 710 (Q48, V40, IR7) - 1 week into prep
3: 740 (Q48, V44, IR8) - 2 weeks into prep
4: 760 (Q50, V41, IR5) - 4 weeks into prep
5: 720 (Q47, V42, IR8) - 3 days ago, I did it late at night after long day of work, as that was the time for my online GMAT as well, and was falling asleep constantly during the test. So I wasn't too discouraged by the result.
What frustrates me is that I feel like I've hit a certain plateau and stopped seeing any improvement from incremental study, although I know I've been studying and learning new things. Also I feel I was very nervous during both attempts and was not my best self. I have limited time to study for the GMAT with a demanding job (I can allocate 5-15hrs/week), and I think I can take one last shot in 16 days.
Can you give me any advise on how best to use those 16 days to boost my score? Thanks a lot for your help.
