S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) has launched the admission process for the 16th batch of its Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) ( https://www.spjimr.org/pgpm/ ) for 2019-20. Application forms are now available online and will remain open till 31st July 2019. PGPM is an AICTE approved programme, having One Year Full Time, Residential component, preceded by a 3 month off campus web learning component. In aggregate, the programme has 15 month duration. On successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Executive). It is accredited by Association of MBAs (AMBA), U.K. It is ranked 4th in India by Outlook(2018). SPJIMR’s PGPM is aimed at enabling participants shoulder higher responsibilities in an increasingly complex and challenging business environment. PGPM follows a unique rolling admissions process. The application deadline for the program commencing October 2018 is 31 July 2019. Candidates applying before the application deadline can be called for early interviews. The Admission office will also roll-out early offers to outstanding candidates identified in early interviews. Our experience suggests that many candidates are inclined to apply at an early date before the deadline since this gives them time to organize themselves before the commencement of the PGPM program. Hence, as a policy, we encourage the practice of early applications, which are then shortlisted for early interviews. Another unique feature is that promising candidates are given spot offers even before the application deadline elapses. Hey guys , just gave my interview today in Delhi, wanted to share few details. The interview was in two rounds, in the first round we were two interviewees and there were 2 interviewers.
In the second round we were 3 ppl and once again 2 interviewers. They make groups as per the specialization chosen by you. In both the groups I had different ppl .
The questions broadly covered all the topics. They asked me about my current job, why the switch, what roles I was targeting post an MBA. Describe an instance were you had an argument with your colleagues and in hindsight what all you would like to change.

2. Can you articulate in detail what are the questions asked in the first interview? How long was this interview?

5. Was there any group discussion?

Mostly the questions were from the profile sheet, not much emphasis on the essays.
1st interview was for around 10-12 minutes. They asked to introduce ourselves. Asked questions like , what is the one thing you don't like about job? What is a life lesson you learnt from facing any hardships in your job. They asked me about crude oil prices and current global economics. They also asked me about current tensions between Iran n Britain. I am in the Merchant Navy and sail on oil tankers, so I guess they asked questions about my job.

2 ND interview was around 25 minutes, where they asked me why I chose this profession, and questions relating to my job. Also asked me the kind of roles I was looking for post MBA.

They asked different questions to different candidates depending on the profile. The last question was common to all where they asked us to narrate an instance where we had a disagreement with our seniors or colleagues in the work environment, and would we go back n change the way we behaved?

There was NO group discussion

Hi All,

I see someone mentioned that there are 4 essays during application phase. But I just applied and there were no essays. There were, however, 4 questions that had to be answered and that were not mandatory. Are those the 4 essays mentioned in one of the posts? Also, is it necessary to write 200 words in each, because I have written around 60-70 words in each.

Hey Guys,

As there isn't any detailed interview experience on the thread. Ill be sharing mine

Registration: -

As soon as you reach the venue, you will be asked by Adcom to fill in a registration form
The registration form consists of 10th, 12th marks, work exp etc
For each of the line item you need to add a self attested copy
Your name will be called out and you need to visit the adcom who will verify the registration details with the orginal
They will take the self attested copy and keep the same with them

Interview: -

You will be grouped into the First specialization you selected into groups of three persons each
There are two interviews of approx 15-20 mins each
Each interview panel has two members

First Interview : -

Pitch yourself in 30 seconds?
Some questions based on the "Profile sheet" you filled ?
Others are asked opinion on the answer suggested by the other candidate?
What is the meaning of market share?
What is the market share of the company you are working?
Situation : - Since 2 years, an FMCG company is going in loss and unable to make profit. What could be the possible reasons
Any questions for the Adcom?

Second Interview : -

Introduce yourself in 1 minute
Some questions after your introduction
Why MBA?
Situation : - A company is selling a product that is flawed. If you dont sell the product , the company will shut down. Will you sell the product or save the consumers interest?
Some questions in the company you are working and the competition? What is the share price?
Will you be dependent for JOB on SPJIMR? Will you get a job easily? Why?
Any questions for the Adcom?

Some important things to remember for the interview: -
Do's -

Dress well. Wear formal blazers
Arrive well before the scheduled time
Be prepared to be called for the interview at any time. Although the slots are fixed, interview can be +-30 mins before the slot
Please keep some questions ready for the interviewer
Please be ready with common MBA questions such as Why MBA? Why <your specialization> ? Pitch yourself?

Dont's -

Please don't ask the interviewer their names. God knows what are you going to do with that information
Please don't ask questions available on the website to the interviewer. Eg: - Guest lectures, when is the result?
