S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) has launched the admission process for the 16th batch of its Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM) (http://www.spjimr.org/pgpm/) for 2019-20. Application forms are now available online and will remain open till 31st July 2019.

PGPM is an AICTE approved programme, having One Year Full Time, Residential component, preceded by a 3 month off campus web learning component. In aggregate, the programme has 15 month duration. On successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Executive). It is accredited by Association of MBAs (AMBA), U.K. It is ranked 4th in India by Outlook(2018).

SPJIMR’s PGPM is aimed at enabling participants shoulder higher responsibilities in an increasingly complex and challenging business environment. This is achieved through (a) reinforcement of participants’ specialized skills and capabilities and (b) promoting cross-functional understanding of real life business issues so as to develop competencies to assume higher responsibilities. The program’s success is seen through rapid growth in the number of applications, higher batch size, greater recruiter satisfaction and rising salaries.

Program USP: Social Sensitivity, Global Relevance & Value based Leadership
The internationally accredited PGPM Program is known for its sharp focus in delivering social sensitivity, global relevance and value-based leadership skills through innovative pedagogy, active international exposure and a series of other initiatives.

Innovative and award winning Program Architecture: SPJIMR’s PGPM will focus equally on Knowledge, Skills and Attitude. In addition to specialized and cross-functional inputs, participants benefit from SPJIMR’s globally acclaimed and award winning value-based leadership development modules like the Assessment & Development of Managerial & Administrative Potential (ADMAP), the Personal Growth Lab, the Development of Corporate Citizenship (DOCC) and the Science of Spirituality.

Career Acceleration to General Management: The program seeks to draw on the robust professional experience of participants with the objective of enabling domain experts ‘expand their horizons’ to their first-level general management roles. Profile mapping helps participants identify roles and good positions at the next level.

International Immersion: PGPM’s carries an advanced specialization module of 3 weeks at universities such as Cornell University, Michigan State University & University of Texas at Austin. This is in areas of specialization such as Information Management, Operations Management, Finance and Marketing. This offers value-added exposure to global best practices and cutting edge management research taught by globally renowned faculty. This value proposition is coupled with Company Visits, Entrepreneur Lectures, workshops etc. The participants recognize the impetus of latest learning in the field of management. This sensitizes them to global mid-level general management career progression.

Wider range of specialization options: The PGPM architecture provides the participants with the option of specializing in specific interest areas by opting from one of the four: Information Management, Operations Management, Marketing and Finance.

Blended Learning: The three-month online web learning module covers basic management courses with the aim of bringing participants from various functional backgrounds on a common footing.

Mentorship: A group of four to five participants with a similar role and domain focus is connected with a mentor, who advises and assists them obtain their career objective. The mentors include advisory board members, senior alumni and industry experts.

Batch Diversity: PGPM students are exposed to a diverse peer group from varied work backgrounds. The current PGPM batch has a good mix from BFSI, technology, retail, healthcare, auto, energy and other sectors.

Increased industry participation: Housed in the sprawling 45-acre SPJIMR campus in the heart of Mumbai, the PGPM enjoys a locational advantage which it draws on to have extensive guest lectures and workshops from senior domain experts, business leaders and entrepreneurs who are based in and around Mumbai or who visit the city often.

Eligibility:
PGPM (1 year MBA) Eligibility Criteria:
1) 5 years of work experience as on 31st Dec. 2019
2) A Bachelor’s/Equivalent Degree in any discipline from a recognized university
3) Consistent Academic record
4) Qualifying GMAT/CAT/XAT (Any 1 of these) scores.
To be eligible, an applicant has to have a minimum of 5 years of work experience. GMAT (GMAT code: 6DQ-MJ-12) score from the previous 3 years that is taken between August 15, 2016 To August 31, 2019 or CAT 2018/2017/2016 or XAT 2019/2018/2017 scores will be considered along with academic credentials. Applicants can choose to apply and be available for the interview process without submitting the GMAT scores, as the last date for submission of GMAT scores is 31st August 2019. However final admission offer would be subject to submission of qualifying GMAT/CAT/XAT scores by the aforesaid date.

Admissions Process
Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview round. PGPM follows a unique rolling admissions process. The application deadline for the program commencing October 2018 is 31 July 2019. Candidates applying before the application deadline can be called for early interviews. The Admission office will also roll-out early offers to outstanding candidates identified in early interviews.
Our experience suggests that many candidates are inclined to apply at an early date before the deadline since this gives them time to organize themselves before the commencement of the PGPM program. Hence, as a policy, we encourage the practice of early applications, which are then shortlisted for early interviews. Another unique feature is that promising candidates are given spot offers even before the application deadline elapses. This is provided they are seen to stand out and are seen to achieve a high position on the formal merit list that follows.

Hi pikolo2510

In the first stage, there is a basic form, along with 4 essays of 200 words each.

In the second stage (if the first stage is cleared), there are multiple other essays and interviews.

Recommendations are not required in either stage.

On their website it says 660, but I went for the PGPM info session last year and the students there said anything above 650 is fine.

even I have the same question. For SPJIMR the results are out way before other schools release their's. SO if we enrol for SPJIMR and later on want to take up admission in some other institute would the initial deposit be refunded? and if not what percentage will they forfeit?

Hi Midhila

- Most schools do not refund the initial deposit if the applicant decides not to attend/continue after enrolling.
- The rest will depend on SPJIMR's policy for this year, which only they can comment on.

Hi SPJIMR team,

I found that the school has a cut-off score for its PGDM programme,
http://spjimr.org/sites/default/files/P ... evised.pdf

is there any GMAT score cut-off for PGPM as well?
I have a GMAT score of 640 (V30, Q48, IR8) and an experience of 9 years; I cannot take another GMAT attempt. Should I refrain from applying to PGPM 1 year programme?

Thanks.

Hi equalizer

There is no such cut off score for the PGPM. With a good app and interview, you could make it with a 640.
