Hello Experts and fellow aspirants,
Please suggest the way forward/ course correction to achieve the score by April end/mid-May as per below information-
I scored 615 in the official Mock Test of GMAT with a breakdown of D79 Q83 V79 (in this order) by self-preparation of almost 6 months now(3 months on-off and 3 months regular 2-3 hr daily).
Attempted questions-
Q 19 solved, 2 guessed with both incorrect.
V 17 solved, 6 guessed with 5 incorrect.
D 13 solved, 7 guessed with 6 incorrect.
Total wrong ( question number)-
Quant: 5 (4th 8th 17th 20th 21st)
In attempted ones, first two were silly mistakes and one, i couldn’t comprehend verbally what are they trying to ask out of two possibilities.
Verbal: 9 (2nd 7th 10th 11th 19th-23rd)
Here, in attempted ones, 4 mistakes total out of which 3 are from CR.
DI: 8 (4th 7th 14th 15th 17th-20th)
Here, out of attempted 13 Q, 2 incorrect- 1 DS and 1 MSR.
Against GMAT CLUB sectional tests,
DI felt a bit easier comparatively.
Quant seems to have a lot of verbal information.
Verbal: CR were lengthy and RC short but complex.
Pain point as per my observations:
Quant: Silly/Careless mistakes and slow in questions with a lot verbal info.
DI: Time-vs-Accuracy conundrum and less confidence in DS questions (what if i didn’t consider a case or can it be done without an statement as well).
Verbal:
CR-
couldn’t concentrate on CR properly while attempting sectionals.
Not quite confident with selected Answer choice (seems like missing proper fundamental) and hence, revisit once to see if i missed something and wasting few seconds in pondering then move on to next question and do the same.
RC-
Performing comparatively better than CR (may be due to messing up in initial CR questions, hence, getting RC of easy to medium levels only).
Struggling with the primary purpose for some reason.
Struggling with comprehending tough passages in one go and hence, I have to re visit the passage again and again while answering, hence, consuming more time that i should have.
Aim: 675-705
Q:87/88/90
V:82/83
D:81/82/83
P.S. I am thinking of giving
expert global tests to learn time management and the right order of Quant, Verbal, and DI.
Its not about how many questions you did correct, You have to be accurate. You should not do any mistakes in easy and medium questions. Then score will improve.
Hi. Every course these days has a free trial so I would encourage you to take that with
TTP as well as
Egmat and see which one resonates more with you.
I would say that improvement speed slow down after you’ve been studying for a while, but you should be able to improve your score. You also may get some improvement from better pacing not solving things faster but just having a better pacing strategy
