Hi GMATinsight, VeritasKarishma

According to me net change means (final change - initial change) so it should be.

2.25 - 1.5 = 0.75

I know this is wrong but help me understand this, why this is wrong.

I am just a beginner, Please help me.

Thanks

The table above show the daily change in the price of a certain stock last week. What was the net change in dollars in the price of the stock for the week?

A. $$-4\frac{5}{8}$$

B. $$-2\frac{7}{8}$$

C. $$+2\frac{7}{8}$$

D. $$+3\frac{3}{4}$$

E. $$+4\frac{5}{8}$$

We need to combine the following, noting that 8 is the common denominator:

3/2 - 3/4 - 1/8 + 9/4

12/8 - 6/8 - 1/8 + 18/8 = 23/8 = 2 7/8

Hi All,

Is there a difference between NET CHANGE and NET CHANGE % ?

So I far I knew that - Net Change% = final value-initial value / initial value * 100

I know , AVERAGE or Arithmetic Mean - sum of observations / number of observations

However ,I am not clear about Net change , the solution seams to a mix of net change % and averages.

Really confused, please help someone.
