Vasanth,

I am yet to commence with the re-application essay. I had a reject from Kelley last year. As I see on their site, the priority deadline in 5th Jan and as you have submitted recently, you will be considered in the priority deadline. Thus, you should rather expect an interview call sometime in Jan; I am not sure if they will review any application before late-Dec because first round's decision will be rolled then.

Out of curiosity, is it better to rewrite the essays, 3 essays, listed on Kelley's site even when one has written it last year?

Adi,

Firstly, I applied for round 1 i.e. October 15th deadline. So, not hearing anything is a big negative for me.

Secondly, to answer your question. I think it is better to start a new application instead of re-applying.

I don't think re-applications are weighed equally with fresh applicants.

So, in my opinion, go for a fresh app even if it costs a bit. It will pay-off.

Also, do not lose hope. One of my friend last year had re-applied, but he was not interviewed. However, he received an admit from them.

Hi All,
I am Siddharth,a fresh applicant .I applied in Round 1 and got interviewed yesterday on Skype.The interview was taken by a second year student who was nice and we had sort of a conversation about my work experiences etc.However i had certain thoughts I like to share

1 firstly , since these interviews are being conducted by second year students who might not be directly a part of the admissions team,how do they judge candidates.

2 secondly,since for International applicants like me for whom it is virtually impossible to sustain the fees without any scholarship,what is the method used to award scholarships,is it these students who recommend the students for scholarships or is there a different parameter.Are the chances better for candidates who have selected to have in-person interviews when the school comes on mba tours(since here it is the admissions team who come ,mot students) , I am in a different city I couldn't manage to meet the admissions and hence had to take a Skype interview.

please advise ,

I interviewed on 24th Nov. I was told that the results for the first round should be out between 16-20 December.

It went really well. It started half an hour early because the candidate who was supposed to come before me was absent.
It was very conversational and a 2-way interview.
The questions were the usual ones you would expect - Why MBA? Why now? Past experiences, ST/LT Goals, etc.
The interviewer also gave me an opportunity to talk about anything that I had failed to mention in the rest of the interview.

Now, the wait begins...
