GMAT Reading Comprehension: 7 Most Common Passage Types

Question

Every other day we'll be finding discussions of interesting and tricky questions from previous years.
We will be finding 5-10 Reading Comprehension passages every day based on Most Common Passage & Question types tested on the GMAT:

Short Passage – 200-250 words
Long Passage – 350-450 words
Natural Sciences - Biology, Physics, Evolution, Classification of living beings, etc.
Physical Sciences - Health care, Medical research, Bio Chemistry, Astronomy, Cosmology, Technology, etc.
Abstract Sciences - Logic, Philosophy, Psychology, Intelligence Levels, Aptitudes, Child Bearing and Rearing, etc.
Social Sciences - History, Politics, Economics, Sociology, etc.
Law - Legal History, International Law, Human rights, Legal Theory, Famous legal cases, etc.
Humanities - Classic and Contemporary Art, Literature, Films, Music, etc.
Business and Economics

Study those hand-picked tough and tricky questions which have not been discussed for at least a year or two (you may have missed them otherwise) and review replies and tips from our expert team and prominent members**.

Terms & Conditions for posting a GMAT Passage:

You will post a fresh RC passage in the RC Forum. Please carry out the search in the search box to ensure that your passage has NEVER been posted on the forum before
Your passage should be on the passage type we have taken for Bumping on given day. e.g. If we have taken ‘Physical Sciences’ passage type for the Bumping today, then you should post fresh ‘Business and Economics’ passage(s) on the RC Forum within 24 hours or until we take next question type for Bumping.
You will subsequently PM me the link of your passage(s) for further evaluation.
If your passage(s) qualifies our acceptance criteria, you will be given 1 Kudos point for each question.
It is a MUST to indicate the source of your passage and Tag it appropriately.
Passages from the following sources will not be considered for Kudos – 1000 series, Brutal SC, Barron, and LSAT.
Any difficulty is accepted (600, 700, 750+ level)
By posting your passage(s) on the forum, you release any copyright rights to the passage you may produce and allow GMAT Club to publish any material as needed
Please reproduce the entire passage in the original format along with its ALL QUESTIONS, options, OAs and, if possible, OEs.

Acceptance Criteria for Questions:

Passage(s) should not be discussed on the GMATCLUB before.
Passage(s) should be posted along with all the questions and their OAs.
Passage(s) should have all the REQUIRED tags.
Passage(s) should be of a Reliable Source – It is mandatory to indicate source of the Question.

1) Read the passage.
2) Make notes.
3) Identify the flow of the passage.
4) Identify the reason behind writing each paragraph.
5) Predict the purpose of next paragraph.
6) At last, identify the main point.
