I'm a FC candidate and didn't get an invite today, so looks like I can finally submit my Booth deposit. I am actually totally fine with this - I've really enjoyed my interactions with Booth and am thrilled to be moving to Chicago.

Best of luck everyone!

Are 2+2 candidates compared to everyone in the application pool or only other 2+2 candidates? Any ideas how many of the 200 interview offers sent next week might be 2+2 vs regular? I couldn't find anything around the Internet or forums about this so was wondering if anyone else may have some insight!

Based on some of the above posts it looks like there is basically zero chance. I'm absolutely gutted as I had put forward (what I thought) was a strong application and I totally had my heart set on HBS. I haven't completely given up hope, but I don't think I'm now being realistic.

Is it highly unlikely for the school to extend ~200 2+2 interviews? If so, there is still chance for regular applicants to get invited in the second wave. However, since applicant who get an interview in later wave will have a significant disadvantage in scheduling the interview, the situation is very confusing...

So I guess it is highly unlikely for regular applicants to receive interview invitation on the second wave?

I'm late to the party here, but got an invite. Was a round 1 deferral.

Crazy, I wasn't even looking for it, I somehow missed the email yesterday. Due to reevaluating my career path and some new opportunities with my firm, b-school has moved down the priority list, but this is welcome news.

Good luck to all invitees!

I'm with you, angelfire, or at least hoping. I'm not sure why everyone is rushing to throw in the towel here. I mean, sure, it's an excruciating week, but does this self-management of expectations attitude really do anything for anyone? HBS says more non-2+2 invites will be extended next week and we have absolutely no reason to think they would say that if it wasn't true.

Easier said than done. Not all of us have gone through such intense life experiences as you have in Fox River State Pen. I'm assuming it's a ding at this point but hoping to get pleasantly surprised.

You've gone through some stuff yourself, Jesse. Idk about you, but season 4 of Breaking Bad was life-changing for me.

The reason why I think it is highly unlikely is the second wave has much smaller number of invitations and I believe the majority of it includes 2+2 applicants. I also checked forums for previous R2 second wave and it seemed like very few regular applicants received invitations and majority was 2+2. Moreoever, some people brought up the fact that the snow storm might have caused less number of invitations sent out in the first wave but the snow storm arrived only 2-3days prior to the invitation day and they had about a month to go over the applications so I am sure they had pretty good sense of who to invite. Any thoughts?

Just my 2 cents here:

1) gmatclub is just a sample, and not a random one at that;
2) Thinking of this like a gmat problem ( :P ) : Assume that the number of applications review by the adcom is a linear function in time (this is reasonable, because they have the same number of staff and each week has the same number of business days); From the deadline until next wed = ~4 weeks; thus, we would expect that approximate 1/4 of the applications are reviewed each week between the submission deadline and the ding notification date (that's probably where Dee got the 600-200 split, by thinking about the total # of invites they project they'll extend in R2); there's nothing revealing here, it just gets at the point that they literally probably have not reviewed 1/4 of the applications meaning that there's a 25% shot our apps haven't even been reviewed yet as of yesterday, which a) certainly is not 0% (like some here seem to think) and b) is no different than at any point in the last month (for all four weeks, there's a 25% shot your app will be reviewed that week), so nothing has really changed.

^this is obviously over-the-top, but it's just me trying to put some numbers around what Dee means when she says that whether you hear this week or next means nothing about your app, but is all about their process (i.e., just because you didn't hear yesterday is not an indication that your probability of admission has somehow changed).
