This phenomenon is restricted to US or it happens for International applicant as well ?

I sorta know how you feel - just keep your head up and don't let it discourage you!

On the other hand, I may have screwed myself by leaving my job a couple months ago, as I was certain I'd get into a top school given my work experience and whatnot (other reasons why I left, but was completely voluntary). Now, not so much :-/ So, unless you are in the same situation, it could be worse! Lol

Nope !! I learnt my lesson when I did the same in Indian MBA space. Took a break and I am still justifying that in the optional essays I wrote.

Got an email from Kari Calvario asking my documents of permanent residency ( I am a green card holder currently working in China). Is this a good sign that they ask me for immigration documents a week before the notification date?

I'm starting to suspect that it's a bad sign for those of us not contacted by current students. Has anyone traced the number of people that said they got contacted, prior to admission, in R1 or previous years?

I was accepted in R1 and was not contacted by a current student. I'm not sure if conditions have changed in R2, but I wouldn't read too much into it.

Same with me- In for R1 but no email from a current student. Maybe they only send them to R2 applicants? In any case, I'm not sure how much stock I'd put in the email as an indicator since there is no consensus on when they send them and who they send them to.
