I am facing with problem with the new GC test format. None of the quant questions seem to appear in a recognizable format. Can someone from GC clarify please?

/Amol

Can you please post screenshots of it? Also, which browser are you using?

Thank you.

Can you please try reload? Is this issue still shown (could be some problems with Mathjax ), and if so can you please provide us with more information on browser version and operation system?

It looks fine on our computers.

Bunuel, what is the most common 700-level question, geometry? In terms of subject material, what's the biggest difference between a 45 and 49.

I feel like I am putting in a lot of effort into the GMAT club practice tests and problems, but can't crack the upper 40's on quant. I am keeping a really accurate error log, I know my weaknesses, but I always seem to score somewhere between 43 and 46. Granted that's improvement from a few months ago when my scores were all over the place. I am much more consistent, but I am not getting higher scores.

Hey
I have been giving gmatclub tests and my exam is on 16th April..
In quant, I usually get around 48... but last test i scored 50.
I also noticed that no of question of 700 level is 14... compared to 25 /24 in previous tests.I still have 19 quant tests left.
Could this be the reason of score jumping ...or has my level increased....?

Bunuel,
I have taken some GMATCLUB Quant tests and I consistently score below Q40 with just one exception (Q45). But I also took two full tests on GMAC website and scored 710 on both (with 49Q on the first test and 48Q on the second).
Are the GMATCLUB tests more difficult than the real test or was I just lucky with the questions I came across on the GMAC website?

Yes, questions in GMAT Club Tests' are generally harder than those in MAT Prep but the difference you are getting is still larger than it should be. Try one or two our tests again let's see what you get.

Hi Bunuel
I am facing a similar problem, there are huge variations in my GMAT club test scores. I started off with Q44, then it was ranging around Q46 and in my gmat prep rest that I took on April 1, I got Q47. But at times I am getting Q30 and even Q19!! While my highest has been Q49(I got a little lucky here with the last few being correct). I am concerned now and lacking confidence since I am unable to gauge my real ability. Timing also varies for each score, for Q49 and Q47 Times were around 64 minutes though.

I tried doing the free questions today that came with official GMATPrep and got 90% . I attempted 30 Questions in one go and got 3 easy questions incorrect, time I took was 60 mins.

I plan to take gmat next month and this variation is really daunting me. Any inputs will be helpful for me to proceed further.

Bunuel chetan2u I just took a GMAT Club Test for Quant. I was in my 31st question.
I had chosen my option and was waiting for the time to run out rather than clicking on the "Finish/Next" button.(I dont remeber the button name)

When the results came, It shows that I only attempted 30 questions. The test considered the 31st question unattended. In the GMAT Official mocks, it is not necessary to click the "Next" button for the chosen option to be recorded. Hence, I request you to implement this feature.

Oy, this is a long overdue post about the previous version of the GMAT.

GMAT Club tests actually follow GMAT and GMAT Prep closely. The rules were updated to not count the last question in the classic GMAT back in 2018'ish or so. This was not announced but was discovered the hard way by some folks who selected the answer and let the timer roll.

Current, GMAT Focus version also does not count questions if they have not been submitted (meaning you choose the answer, and hit submit), and as everyone probably knows, you do not want to leave any questions un-answered on GMAT Focus, it is better to get them wrong than to not answer.

Hope you are doing well!
