But honestly, let's use Occam's razor.
If the intent of these emails is to improve yield through increased communication, why painstakingly go through their email distro and pick out the "high prob. of admit" candidates when they can just hit "reply all" to everyone who applied?
I don't buy that they mean anything at all, but could be wrong.

Hi Everyone,
We have the following chat room reserved for Kellogg decisions so that applicants can stay in touch and exchange information/update during the decision period. All chat rooms are equipped with decision tracker so that decision updates can be seen in the chat room itself.
