Is it possible that we will hear news before Round 2 decisions. As I understand the deposit deadline is February 9, so they should have some spots open. I need to make Tuck Deposit in February, but have a hard time letting Kellogg go.

We are both in similar situations then. My Yale deposit is due February 6. Kellogg's is due Feb 7 so at the very earliest mid Feb is when they'd do a first cut as they'll know third round 1 yield. I don't think we'll hear back in January. Based on last year's forum they didn't send out official waitlist form until Jan 5

Does anyone have an idea how many people do they waitlist in R1? What are the acceptance rates and consequences of being in the waitlist?

They said if they need "more information" they'll proactively reach out. They said we should reflect on our application and see how to fill any gaps. Nothing around them giving us feedback.

Just recently had a chat with my waitlist manager. He just asked a few questions on my post-MBA goals. Explained to him my situation now and he was basically free to answer any of my questions about the waitlist.

Anyone else on a similar boat?

I was approached, but I sent a waitlist update earlier in the month.

Would you know if historically everyone on the waitlist gets a call or is it just selected?

The Adcom in the webinar stated that they reach out to candidates if they need any clarification from the candidate. They also mentioned that if we do not reach out to someone that means that they do not need anything extra from that candidate, and it shouldn't be considered a negative.
