Thanks for sharing and posting. I have been following it in the press. I found some interesting coverage in WSJ talking about Singer being the informant in an interesting twist of the story. It appears he was wearing the wire for the FBI and basically turned in his clients and got them all into hot water.... This is a huge deal not because of what Singer has done but what the implications are for 33 parents as well as those who were past clients and whom universities may find ineligible for admission....

I have been able to find one reference for BSchool Application Cheating as a part of this scheme as well:

"The indictment also references an alleged phone conversation between Sidoo and an unidentified individual on or around Oct. 25, 2018. In the call, Sidoo noted that his older son was applying to business school, the indictment says.

"I thought you were gonna call me and say I got a 2100 on my GMAT," Sidoo allegedly said, referencing a standardized test that is widely used as part of the business school admissions process with a highest possible score of 800.

The unnamed person allegedly responded, "They don't have a 2100 for the GMAT. But I would do my best to get it for ya," to which Sidoo allegedly replied, "I know.""

P.S. This is on the front page of many publications. I wonder how long this actually sticks for.

For me the more disturbing aspects are the "legal" ways of getting admissions.

1. "Donating" (bribing?) millions to universities in exchange for admits
2. Paying admissions consultants and prep coaches large sums of money to game standardized testing and essay writing
3. Favoring Athletics like rowing etc. that basically require you to have rich parents

Even MBA admissions, if you think about it, are rigged in the favor of those who can afford admission consultants and tutors.
