Hi GMAT Club,
Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I had some questions about Booth’s EMBA program.
I applied to the full time program in R1 but I was denied without an interview. However, I’ve just been invited to apply to the EMBA program by the London admissions team. They said I won’t need to resubmit an application and the turnaround will be quick.
Please see some background on me below:
Age: 28 (will be 29 by matriculation)
Nationality: South African
Location: South Africa
WE: 3 years management consulting, 2 years internal strategy for a commercial bank, 1 year as senior product manager at the same bank.
Immediate career goals: senior product role at fintech or major FI (open to different locations). Also wouldn’t be opposed to advancing in my current career to an executive role such as the product executive role held by my boss.
I hadn’t considered EMBA programs so I don’t know much about how they differ from full time programs. Is the evaluation process quite different? Is career switching even possible in an EMBA? What about the brand equity of an EMBA vs full time MBA? Do EMBA students in London without a US passport have any access to US career opportunities?
Any insights would be helpful.
