It does happen this way but usually is done when the first deposit deadline is within a month.

I actually got a mail from one of the Adcom member stating that they would like to invite me for a short interview to discuss my candidacy and answer any questions that I might have. There was a link for scheduling half an hour slot. Although, the subject of the mail was "invitation to schulich mba interview" . Just wanted to confirm whether this is how they send invites instead of pre-scheduled slots or this could be something else.
