Hey all. Specific questions here.
So we applied with my spouse and we were very lucky to receive the results we did: I got accepted and my spouse got waitlisted. I have a couple of specific questions to ask.
1) How long can we expect that Wharton will take before considering waitlisted candidates for the class of 2024?
2) What should one do to get off waitlist?
3) Does my being accepted increase my spouse’s chances of admission as well?
4) I’m planning to defer for personal reasons, but I’m afraid that me deferring would automatically lead to spouse’s rejection because we are not planning to come this year anyway. Is this valid?
5) I need to inform them of my decision by February. Can I accept in February but stall my deferral request say till May or so? Just to make sure I’m in no way affecting spouse’s chances for the worse.
6) This is the only school we have been accepted / waitlisted to out of 4 total we applied and we want to not apply in second round anymore, since we are deferring for one year anyway. We think we wait and see if spouse is accepted or not, and then if not we apply/reapply again next year, instead of hastily trying to meet R2 deadlines this year. Does this approach make sense?
7) I have not received any info on scholarship, but I see that some people already have. Just wondering - is this it for me or is there still room to negotiate some $$?
