Hi qtip97,
I had a 740 (Q50, V41) with IR 4. I am from engineering background and have a 6 yrs experience in oilfield. I applied to 5/7 M7 schools and got admit from 3/5 already, awaiting 2 more (got interview from MIT too which is so much data comprehension oriented). In my honest opinion, your score is really quite decent (atleast better than mine) and doesn't really need a retake. I think you can do either of the following:
- Retake (if you have ample time) but if the overall score is below 760, do not accept it. The current overall score of 760 is too good to be ruined.
- Use the current score to apply to M7 colleges and in the "explain any extenuating circumstances" section of application that almost every college has, explain that the comparitively low IR is not really representative of your data comprehension abilities and how you use and interpret data constantly in your every day work (I am guess your consulting work requires extensive use of data).
Good luck!
