If you want a short answer, then yes, because that's the whole point of the deferred program right? Since you're a sophomore, the good thing is you are having a lot of room for improvement to build a stellar resume (good grade, hard course, extracurricular activities, etc). And don't forget the stellar GMAT too, because I believe deferred programs are more competitive than regular MBA since the adcom will weigh your hard stats heavily.

can you possibly lose scholarship if you defer your program?

By 'defer your program', do you mean that you apply for a deferred program or that you apply for a regular MBA and choose to defer your enrollment? In the first case, no, you are unlikely to lose your scholarship, if given any, because you 'play by the rule'. In the latter case, your scholarship and even your enrollment decision should you choose to defer your matriculation are judged on a case-by-case basis - you'll need to explain to the adcom why you have to defer.
