It is a little hard to put into words, but this answer 'fits' the best with the fewest repeated words, 'ofs,' etc. and uses an active voice rather than a passive voice, which is viewed as preferrable in english.

I'll preface by stating that SC questions make no sense to me, yet. I'm going off gut feels.
(A) inescapable conclusion seems to be  one of  Porkorny influencing and shaping part of Joyce’s work of that period. I don't like this part, seems off.
(B) conclusion seems inescapable that part of Joyce’s work of that period was influenced and shaped by Porkorny. inescapable should come before conclusion
(C) conclusion of Porkorny influencing and shaping part of Joyce’s work of that period seems inescapable. same as B, but the positioning of inescapable is inescapably bad
(D) conclusion of part of Joyce’s work of that period having been influenced and shaped by Porkorny seems inescapable. same as C
(E) seemingly inescapable conclusion is that Porkornoy would have influenced and shaped part of Joyce’s work of that period. much better but the "would have influenced" part seems like future tense talking about a past tense situation. I chose E, not sure if I'm right
