Just finished my Ross interview
Weirdest one I've had yet

Tmay - I talked about how I played tennis. We discussed federer vs nadal for a few mins. (I think he was not happy that I dissed Federer despite saying Federer was my favorite. )

Then he grilled me about my work on digital transformation for 5 mins.

Then why mba and Ross.

Then tmat conflicting opinions - grilled me for 5 mins here.

Then tmat conflicting priorities + failure.

Tell me how you lead teams.
Any questions for me at the end

This lasted 40 mins

15th was the final interview date in the portal that I saw so I'm not sure that this would help anyone but just in case

1) Walk me through resume
2) Why MBA? Why now?
3) Why Ross?
4) TMAT, you received constructive feedback
5) TMAT, leading diverse people for a project
6) TMAT, you have to manage competing priorities and have failed
7) Describe a time you had to change your approach to reach a goal.
8) Q &A
After every question, there was at least 1 follow up question if not more

I was grilled as well
We spoke for 5 mins about "Why MBA", why can't you laterally move to achieve your ST goals etc

@R1 applicants, admits -> Was this normal?

Strange just curious to know how did he grill you on your answer for conflicting opinions. It’s something which is your experience in past.. what is his role here to say in something which is already happened

What exactly happened
How did your manager respond
How did you convince people? - I mentioned 3 points here he asked me to elaborate all 3 and tell me how exactly how I went about it

Did not seemed convinced at the end of this particular question.

For me it was

Why MBA
I feel you can move laterally, makes a lot of sense
Give me a clearer picture of each point made, in depth, give me all the consequences of the action in detail , who were the stakeholders
Each question

Each answer took 4-5 mins with all these details

Just finished my Ross R2 interview. Sharing questions and format in case it helps someone prepping.
Format: Alumni interview (based in USA), virtual, ~25 minutes of Q&A + 5-10 minutes of me asking questions. Very conversational — started with some small talk about weather and background before getting into the structured questions. Interviewer was friendly and engaged throughout.

Questions asked:

Why MBA? Why now?
Tell me about yourself / walk me through your background
Why Ross?
Did you speak with any current Ross students or attend any events?
Tell me about a situation where your manager gave you constructive feedback
Tell me about a time you worked in a diverse team
Do you have any questions for me?

After some question, there was at least 1 follow up question if not more

We spoke for 5 mins about "Why MBA", why can't you laterally move to achieve your ST goals etc

Good luck everyone

I believe R2 interview invites are completed for now. What are the chances for getting waitlisted or interview rollover to next round ?

Yes but rare given how competitive it generally is. However, the decline in the number of top candidates moving to US due to H1-b scares and declining opportunities for internationals, imo there’ll be a focus on maintaining a competitive international pool. So although 2 years back, someone coming on a waiver would barely get any scholarship, now their chances are much better.
