Yes, in addition to the "Thank you for applying" email I got when I submitted on Oct 9, this is what I got today:

"Dear [Ward2012]

This is just a quick note to let you know that your file is now complete and has been forwarded to a member of the Admissions Committee for review.
Please let us know if we may be of any further assistance to you.

Kind regards,

[AdCom Member]"
Got the email today, too. Submitted on October 1st, interviewed on October 14th. So I would guess it is a manual process. My status has not changed online, which I would expect if it would be automatic. Plus the text is slightly different :) I hate waiting, as I start wasting time on things like this ;)

I still haven't gotten my email. I interviewed September 16th and submitted October 9th. However, the application website does say my application is "completed" now. I'm pretty sure this wait is going to kill me.

Hm, mine is still on "submitted". Just a guess, maybe if it is on "submitted" they already decided on your application? Though this would not help as you would not know that decission. ;)

Just to confirm, as there are two "Application Status" lines on the website: for you, both show "completed", right? As for me, the green one is on "submitted", while the black one below is submitted since October 1st (a day after I submitted my application, but before I had the interview).

It looks like the email is sent out when the second line is changed to "completed on....". My first line still says "submitted" and the second line says "competed on...." and the time listed corresponds exactly to when I received the email. I wouldn't worry about not receiving it yet they are probably still just working through all the applications.

Hm, does not match for me. "Completed" since October 1st, but did not receive the email that my application was forwarded till yesterday. Well, I do not get the system, but actually it makes no difference anyhow :) Just a long wait till December 18th...

Hey guys,

Sorry for being unavailable for last couple of days. As a T'15, I am barely keeping up with Fall B Accounting, Recruiting, Tripod Hockey, and Murphys.

Some quick (and very obvious) updates/suggestions from my side:

1. Try to send "thank you" notes to people who helped you through out your MBA application process. This includes your peer groups, people who wrote your recommendations, AdComs you interacted with, your interviewer at Tuck (and other schools), and most importantly say thanks to your friends and family for tolerating you throughout the process.

2. Relax. Remember you have done your part. Its very common to have that feeling of reaching out to the AdCom regarding the status of your application, chances of success, recent (scheduled) promotion or updated employment report. Hold on to that feeling unless you think its critical and it will drastically improve your chances at Tuck.

3. Hedge your bets and start working on Round 2 applications. You may choose not to submit them later.

4. Don't loose focus on your current job (and your career progress). Even if you get in to Tuck, you wont matriculate before Aug 2014. Sweet promotion to Project Manager or Senior Associate or an Economist (in my case) will help during first year recruitment at Tuck (exactly 11 months from now).

Keep me posted, and if you have any specific queries, shoot me a PM. Glad to chat.

Hope you all make it to Tuck next year.

To be clear mine says "Submitted" on the top and "completed" on the line below it. Still waiting on the email...

Hi Guys - doing a little answering from things I've noticed.

Flyte
It seemed they tried to pair candidates up (though this could have been a happy coincidence) with interviewers who were going into similar fields that we wanted to transition into. For instance, I had a student going to MBB, another guy who wanted to go into VC got a VC guy, a person interested in healthcare consulting had the same, etc.
This is luck of the draw! Sometimes you get lucky :)

Psyched
Does anyone know how long the interviewer has until they have to submit feedback to adcom about an applicant? Just curious.

Need some advice regarding my resume. So I previously submitted a resume to initiate my interview. It was pretty solid and there are no glaring errors on it. However I want to make some enhancements to it prior to submitting my application for the November round. Will it present problems the fact that the resume that I interviewed with does not match the one submitted for my application?
Zero problems.

Hi Prodizy,

Congrats to you too! Could you share your experiences with us, was your interview off campus as well?

Warm Regards,

Hey mgapplying,

Mine was on-campus applicant-initiated interview. The interview was very enjoyable. The second year student who took my interview was very humble. She was genuinely interested in getting to know me.

The interview is mostly about
  • what you have I done till now (walk me through your resume),
  • why I need an MBA (career goals),
  • how Tuck will help me out (my personalized plan to achieve those goals),
  • most importantly, WHY Tuck (am I genuinely interested in Tuck or not)

The last part was pretty important I felt. I think she was not hooked by my justification of why Tuck. So my advice is to really work on that. I was also asked to share about a leadership experience. I would strongly suggest visiting Tuck for an interview. It will be one hell of an experience. If you live in a big city, you will immediately get hooked.

Hope that helps. Send me a PM if you want to ask anything specific.

Best,
Prodizy

Hey guys, I know its a stupid question but somehow I am unable to find the place where we have to upload the resume in the online application of Tuck. Can someone throw some light on this? Where do we upload the resume, under which section?
