A it is, bringing is ing form describing the result of test. All other options are wrong because of the use of "and"

A.bringing -- [color=#0000ff]What brings the number to five is the act of the two players testing positive. the adverbial modifier brings out the intent clearly. Hence, the correct choice.

C. and it brings -- 1. same thing as in B; 2. no reference for 'it'
