Hi doctorb,

Could your GMAT score be a reason for not getting an interview call last year?

With 710, unlikely.

Academic credentials are unlikely to be the reason for not making it last year. So, your new GMAT score (and it stays the same) won’t move the needle this time.

Would HBX and CEIBS make the difference? They again are more indicative of your ability to get admission into these programs (unless you used the knowledge at CEIBS to do something) or, in other words, add to your academic credentials. It’s hard to quantify their influence, but mention them.

The most impact, in my opinion, will be made by the new successes in your family businesses. Reflect on these successes in your application, and show how your candidacy has improved in the past one year.

An important but often under looked point, did you do the app well? My last blog post on my website speaks to what that means. I recommend you take a look, it's specifically written for Indian applicants. Your profile and the value of what you're doing is really only valuable in so much as your ability to communicate effectively in the application materials...
