Born Janet Miriam Taylor Caldwell near Manchester, England, on Sept 7, 1990, her family moved to the United States when the future author was six.

A) her family moved to the United States when the future author was six
B) her family then moved, when the future author was six, to the United States
C) her family, when the future author was six, then moved to the United States
D) when the future author was age six, her family moved to the United States
E) the future author moved with her family to the United States at age six.

Hi ManishKM1,

Is the question correct? Especially the non-underlined portion?

Not sure, have jotted it from Jamboree Blue book prep.
Born Janet Miriam Taylor Caldwell near Manchester, England, on Sept 7, 1990, her family moved to the United States when the future author was six.

The modifier can be essentially reduced to "Born on Sept 7, 1990"...apt subject for this can be a person, not family...

A) her family moved to the United States when the future author was six..out for modifier issue
B) her family then moved, when the future author was six, to the United States ..out for modifier issue
C) her family, when the future author was six, then moved to the United States ..out for modifier issue
D) when the future author was age six, her family moved to the United States ....modifying the time
E) the future author moved with her family to the United States at age six.....Only option that modifies a person that is author herself
E is correct as non-underlined portion is a modifier and should be followed by the subject "the future author". Only E matches the requirement.
