Can someone explain how come 0.64 x ?

Every time the ball rebounds the next height will be 80% of previous height. So first time is x, second time is 80% of x, third time is 80% of second time (0.64)

Let x be original height
total distance traveled = x + 0.8x + 0.8x + (0.8)(0.8x) + (0.8)(0.8x) = 3104
x + 1.6x + 1.28x = 3104
3.88x = 3104
x = 800
Hence IMO E
