In a family average age of mother and father is 38 years whereas the average age of father , mother and their only daughter is 28 years, Then what is the age of daughter ?
1) 2yrs
2) 5 yrs
3) 8 yrs
4) 10 yrs
5) 12 yrs

Given : M + F = 2 * 38 = 76 -----> (I)

M + F + D = 3 * 28 = 84 -------> (II)

Therefore, from I & II

D = 84 - 76 = 8 Years

Hence (C)

We can create the following equations:

m + f = 2(38) = 76

and

m + d + f = 3(28) = 84

Subtracting the first equation from the second, we have:

d = 8
