How many of the integers between 25 and 45 are even?

(A) 21
(B) 20
(C) 11
(D) 10
(E) 9

Since the question isn't asking inclusive and 35 and 45 are odd numbers i simply deducted 25 from 45 and divided by 2 and got 10 (TEN :)

There are two ways to calculate this-

Inclusive and non- inclusive
for inclusive, we add 1 to the total (after dividing it by 2).. and for non-inclusive, we don't need to add anything, just divide by 2 (for even)

1st way non-inclusive, i.e. the staring and end number is odd, therefore, we don't have to add 1 to the total
45-25 = 20 total numbers
20/2 (for even) = 10 option D

Or

2nd way for inclusive,

44-26 = 18 total numbers, (as starting and end numbers are even)
18/2 (for even) = 9+1 (for inclusive ) = 10 option D

First even number = 26 = 2*13
Last even number = 44 = 2*22
Total even numbers = 22-13+1 = 10
Hence, D.
