Sorry I am late to the discussion. I had a very busy few weeks with the MBA Spotlight MBA Fair. Hope I’m not too late.

You have to love when your own country will not let you out :-) if you have a solid reliable job, I would see staying put as a more certain option. It’s not necessarily better, but it will give you more choice and certainty. You can try your luck and apply next year to better programs to see if you can improve your situation or score a scholarship somewhere.

The age difference of one year ago hardly make much of a play but at your age, you won’t be fitting the standard mold of the MBA graduate and you will have to invest into recruiting on your own.

There are potentially more rewards to reap if you go to do the NBA this year and that’s definitely the hardest choice but the more risks but I think it carries more rewards. The scared and lazy side of me says to take the deferral but If you are sort of Tired of your job and deferring for a year is not going to add much value to you or actually set you back potentially, I think it makes sense to take the risk and head over to the business school.
