I had to make a somewhat similar decision last year, (A little less $ at both schools), and ended up choosing Duke and have no regrets so far. Completely understand the difficulty of the decision though and can't go wrong either way. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions, and good luck!

I think I also lost track of my calendar a bit but we still have R2 in front of us.

For the Tech PM, how do you feel a tech degree would help you develop the concept of an apple app store for business or education and market it to the proper channels? How do you think a degree in python or microprocessors would help you launch a new product at facebook? Your technical degree is baggage. The key skill for a successful tech PM is communication and project management skills. It is not being able to talk jargon with developers because some products have no development whatsoever, and for others, you can learn it fairly quick on the job by taking the appropriate courses/classes - Microsoft and Amazon offer those to their PM's and there are no expectations of technical knowledge. Microsoft even has a rotation program where you spend your first year working 3 months in 4 different verticals and then at the end, you choose which group to join.

Anyway, I feel Google would be a great boost for your resume in R2 if you wanted to try your luck (though it is quite late) or definitely a strong opportunity next year.

As to the choice at the moment.... Fuqua would be a much stronger placement engine for Tech and PM roles. Ross has carved a strong road for itself and many feel it is a MSFT/AMZN feeder school but the numbers are actually comparable with Fuqua. So the choice is a bit of safer play with UNC vs more bullish outlook and play with Fuqua.

You brought a great point with safer play vs bullish outlook. I guess it ultimately boils down to these two elements.

Thanks a lot to alleviate my concerns on my PM aspirations and for introducing me to the thought of applying next year :) I'll sit for a while with these points and then move forward with the decision. This was super helpful, bb!
