Does anybody know whether the required essays for the 2017 intake are the same as the ones for the previous year? The application has opened but Kellogg's website still has the essays for 2015-2016 on their website.
Thank you, Dhruv

Hi Dhruv
The Kellogg essays for 2016-17 are not out yet, though the deadlines have been announced. Per Kellogg, the app should be open in early July, so a week or so in all probability.
Thank you - does Kellogg typically have the same essays every year? Do you think they'll change for 2016-17 or can we prepare based on the 15-16 essay topics?

If we go by the past, then some changes are expected. Unlike many other top schools, Kellogg does change its essay set every year. While some brainstorming or ideation on your key achievements and experiences can be done in preparation, preparing actual essays based on the 2015-16 topics might not be the best thing to do.

Stay tuned as the essay questions will be posted soon. Once they are announced, I'll write an analysis of them to give you some tips.
Good luck and start on some other schools in the meantime. You can see some other analyses I wrote on my website under the blog section.
Having been in your position last year, wishing all of you good luck! Make sure you guys allocate time for the general application - too often people get sucked into the essay q and forget about the entire package (the tone must be super consistent)

The essay questions for 2016-17 are posted on Kellogg's website. Here are the Qs.
For 2016-2017, the following two essays are required of all applicants:
Essay 1. Leadership and teamwork are integral parts of the Kellogg experience. Describe a recent and meaningful time you were a leader. What challenges did you face, and what did you learn? (450 words) Essay 2. Pursuing an MBA is a catalyst for personal and professional growth. How have you grown in the past? How do you intend to grow at Kellogg? (450 words) Optional Essay: If needed, use this section to briefly describe any extenuating circumstances (e.g. unexplained gaps in work experience, choice of recommenders, inconsistent or questionable academic performance, etc.) (no word count)
Re-applicants Essay: Since your previous application, what steps have you taken to strengthen your candidacy? (250 word limit)
Video Essays: After submitting a completed application, each applicant will be asked to complete several Video Essay Questions. The questions will be comparable to questions asked in an interview setting....Candidates will have 20 seconds to think about their question and up to 1 minute to give their response.
