Hi, Is IELTS/ TOEFL mandatory for booth application? Or does it offer a waiver for international students, if their only mode of instruction at their university was in English?
Is the GMAT a proof of proficiency? Especially, getting above a 90th percentile in Verbal?

No, it is not unfortunately. You will need to take one of the English tests. Thankfully they are easy enough. English language profficiency was always TOEFL/IELTS or maybe now also Duolingo.

Nope, you still need one of the IELTS/TOEFL. But you can breeze through those if you have a top score in GMAT Verbal, particularly the Sentence correction portion
Sorry if this has been asked before. With the 250 word minimum, what is everyone aiming for? I am coming around 350 words for one essay and wondering if its too consice.
Hi I wanted to check something about the employer section of the Booth form. I work at a multinational company and the business unit that I am part of is across many countries. For the company/organization size, should I put the size of the local company or the global company?

The essay I was proofreading for someone was 700. It did not read too long really but it was starting to diminish in value with each paragraph. You want to keep your message focused and strong, Wood becomes harder the longer you go.

kmatz, As long as it’s not inaccurate, it is always better to be a part of a larger organization.
Usually the bigger the company the assumption expectation is that there is more competition and more scrutiny and therefore it shows you in a better light.
Also, if your company is not a global brand that’s known by the admissions, you want to build it up as much as you can. There are super great companies but they may be completely unknown outside of the industry so you want to mention things such as second largest retailer of cosmetics or the largest logistics company in Europe , etc
Someone asked about the recommended length for the Booth Essays - I have seen people do close to 2x the minimum. So if the minimum is 250, the "rule" is around 400-500 is a good measure. If the request is 350, then 500-700 is a good size.
Hi everyone. We are approaching the Round 1 Deadline but I wanted to ask: my application next steps show "you are up-to-date!". But I didn't pay for my application. Did I get a waiver for being a non-US military veteran? If I did receive the waiver, they did not make me aware. I also got this e-mail which says: "Thank you for submitting your application to Chicago Booth’s Full-Time MBA Program! Visit your application status portal to view your next steps and pay your application fee. Please allow up to 1 hour for status to update and your payment to appear."
Should I wait for one hour until they send a fee payment link? Is that what it means?

Unless you had specifically filled the waiver form and gotten an email notifying you of an approved fee waiver, then you will need to make the payment before your application can be reviewed.
Howdy y’all, MBA Conquerors is running a free DIY applications project that can help people who are doing their own applications themselves. I used to be a former moderator, and giving back to people in some way. Zero BS approach, you can take a look at the Booth Essay 1 here- https://www.mbaconquerors.com/post/roleplay0017 . Will have the second one proofread by the evening and will send the link to that as well. Hoping it helps
