Good luck buddy ! Will love to hear about your 6 MGMAT scores. I am doing the same 730 but not sure if I am ready. Need some encouragement ! Just starting on the WORD TRANSLATIONS guide. I am not a fan of word problems, specially the Double Matrix stuff.

740orhigher

After about 3.5 weeks of studying, I began taking tests again. I took the first 5 MGMAT's before so I only had MGMAT 6 left. Took it and scored a 710 (Q48 V38). Retook MGMAT Cat 1 and scored a 740 (Q47 V45). The disparity made no sense but I decided to not think too much of it.

Retook GMAT Preps and scored:
GMATPrep 1 retake: 760 (Q49 V44) - 1 week before test
GMATPrep 2 retake: 730 (Q50 V40) - 3 days before test

V35 to V44 is a strong move. Congrats indeed. Can you elaborate more on what you think you did to move from V40 to V44, I'm really trying to understand this for my own purposes - finding it hard to make the jump.

I always felt I was at a V38-V40 level, as my practice test scores indicate. However, after my 1st GMAT when I scored a V35 I decided to devote more time to Verbal. For SC, I used MGMAT the first time around. While it is good, I felt it just wasn't working for me. I bought Powerscore SC and I felt that it made more sense and I understood the concepts much better. The layout was more user friendly to me. For CR, I reread MGMAT and really tried to understand it better. The second time of rereading the CR definitely helped, even though the book itself seems pretty limited. As for the test, I honestly just got into a zone where the questions just seemed very easy to me, easier than any prep. Most likely, the V44 was a complete fluke but I'll take it. I even saw 2 boldface CR questions for those who are interested in that stuff.

Hi

I have my exam in 3 days. Following are my scores in the past month:

Veritas Prep- 700 (35V,51Q)
GMATprep 1 - 710 (38V,49Q)
MGMAT- 650 (35V,44Q)
GMATprep 5 - 710 (37V,49Q)
GMATPrep 6 - 680 (38V,46Q)- Given today

Can anyone tell me what should I expect in actual GMAT?

Thank you

Hi niyatibansal

Welcome to GMATClub!

Unfortunately, you have chosen the wrong thread to ask your question, as
the last time there was any activity on this thread was 2011. It is very very
unlikely someone here will answer your question :)

Now, coming to the part of what to expect in the GMAT - it is a very difficult
question to answer because the score could have been inflated if you had any
repeat question. But if all the questions are new and you have taken the test
in exam conditions, you are likely to score in the same range. I say
likely to score because there are a lot of factors which are part of the equation
when you are giving the real exam and some people don't perform as well as
others during pressure

Hope this helps you.

Hi Niyatibansal,

As pushpitkc mentioned, assuming that you took your practice exams under test-like conditions, you should be able to achieve a GMAT score similar to your practice exam scores.

Furthermore, since your test is in just a few days, I recommend that you don’t do a ton from here on out. Keep your studying light. Review flash cards/notes from past topics to ensure that knowledge has not slipped through the cracks. Don’t try to cram or learn any new material. At this point, piling on new topics would probably hurt more than it would help.

I wrote an article that you may find helpful that has some more advice regarding how to treat the final week leading up to your GMAT as well as some tips for test day.

Let’s me know how things end up, and please reach out with any further questions.

Good luck!
