I heard they call candidates from the waitlist before offering them and that happens a few days before the decision date. Is that always the case?

Yeah. It’s pretty depressing. This year heard a wave of Indian male candidates getting waitlisted across schools in R2. Too tough a luck. I had three waitlists, no acceptances, but seems will now have to move to next year (sigh)

Thank you staying in such nice touch and congratulations on your MBA application success! Yes, I can confirm we received your waitlist update a couple weeks back and really appreciate the care you put into that.



While we understand your desire for an expeditious decision, there is no update at this time. The Admissions Committee will be rendering decisions on a rolling basis between now and matriculation. Waitlist decisions exist outside the round format and applicants can be admitted or denied at any time throughout this period. Unfortunately it’s really difficult to project when we may be in a position to make movement from our waitlist. Trust you would not have been added to our waitlist if we couldn’t envision you as a student at Kellogg, but we do need some time to monitor how the class takes shape over these coming weeks.



I know that doesn’t provide much clarity on timing as you make a decision on next steps, which we do not take lightly. Whether you decide to stay the course with Kellogg or pursue your other option, please know how much we’ve enjoyed getting to know you!

Anybody on waitlist from round 1 or 2 hear anything today as round 3 decisions came out? Also, from the few I have seen on clear admit’s live wire, the only ones to convert from WL to offer were called prior to receiving an offer. Does anyone know of any cases where they received an offer without admissions calling up beforehand to confirm interest?
