How many more waves of invites should we expect? 1 or 2 next week?

Posted from my mobile device

Just my opinion as I have no actual view into admissions: I think there will be two waves next week. Wharton seems to be going on a once per week schedule so far, so there will probably be another round Monday/Tuesday of next week and then another one on Friday.

I expect Friday's batch to be mostly waitlists (Does anyone know if they waitlist without interview??) and rejections; however, some people have posted on here that they received invites on the very last day, so if you don't hear anything early in the week, it's still not too late!

Has anyone from the NYC area received an invite yet? I am hoping that they save the closest for last!

Nope, Wharton doesn't waitlist without interview.

For those who got interviews, any data on what percent they admit who they interview? I know HBS is like 50%. Is wharton the same or higher? I've also heard wharton interviews more people than anyone but Kellogg.

Post-interview admit is about 40% based on what I've seen online.

Although one story doesn't prove anything, this was my experience last year. I live 45 minutes by car to campus, and I got an invite the last day. When I interviewed towards the end of the period, all the candidates waiting with me were from NYC.

Yeah, NYC here. Got the invite on Monday. But I would agree with the other poster that trying to find geographic patterns is just going to make you go crazy. I understand I need to get facts though. Knowledge, in these admissions cases, is not really power, unfortunately.

At this point, all you can do is wait and see if you get invited by November 9th -- that's only 1.5 weeks away. In the meantime, go out with friends, see a movie, throw yourself into your work if you have to. Refreshing your inbox every 2 seconds isn't going to make that email come any time sooner!

As an Indian applicant, if I don't hear from Wharton today, I am assuming a ding. the interviews in Mumbai are between Nov 6-8 , placing today as the maximum 1 week deadline I am working with.

I anticipate many invites will go out today. The invites on Monday would have been pre fed in the system. Monday/Tuesday they were closed. They would have reviewed more applications yesterday and today and tomorrow there should be a decent number of invites going out.

Although this is logical, sometimes Wharton's invite process defies logic. I think you are assuming that if Wharton is going to interview you they would only plan to do so in Mumbai. That's not the case. Last year there were a good number of international applicants who received invites AFTER the hub location spots had filled. A lot of internationals interviewed on campus.
I know you're thinking that that doesn't make any sense because it's even more difficult to get to the US than it is to a city within your country, but it is what it is. There's really no way to gauge it by the dates they will be in your country. My guess is that due to the volume of applicants they just can't get through all of the applications in enough time to match all of the invitees to the most convenient location to be interviewed. People who are reviewed later often have to get in where they fit in.

All of this to say don't count yourself out.
