Hi gauthambr
First and foremost => There is no thumb rule which guarantees an admit at XYZ school with a XXX score.

Let roll=>
You belong to a OVERRRRRRR(and a few more RRRR...) represented Indian pool.

But don't let that unnerve you from applying to the Top schools.
Going back to your question => Target a 700+.

Again it depends on the schools you are choosing.
For Top 20 schools and given you are an indian => Target a 710+ score.

Then nail those essays.
Admit decision are 20% essays +25 percent interview and 15-20% GMAT score.
So don't get stuck up on a particular score.

GMAT within the average of the schools would be fine.

An application is much more than a GMAT score.
Recommendations count too.

Without knowing your GMAT-score it is extremely difficult to suggest the universities.
Any school in the TOP-20 would be awesome.

I hope it helps.

Some bad advice here. Interviews don't carry that much weight, its unclear how much weight essays carry, and GMAT carries a ton of weight.

Here are some articles with data to highlight

TLDR: CRUSH the GMAT

TLDR: CRUSH the GMAT
Hi jessepinkman

You are in the WRONG to say the least.
First and Foremost => The above two articles you have posted are kind of irrelevant to the topic being discussed here.
I was being generic in my response and not about TUCK or any specific school.
You should read my comments carefully before posting irrelevant links.

Next => According to the GMAC Official survey =>
Quote:
The emphasis on interviews and test scores varies from program to program, the survey found. In Executive MBA programs for students with more work and managerial experience, test scores only counted for 8%, with the interview representing 30%. For two-year MBA programs, interviews amounted to 21% of an admissions decision versus 20% for test scores.

And i think we both can agree that GMAC must have carried out extensive research on the topic before making such an assessment.

INTERVIEWS ARE STILL THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE ADMIT PROCESS

And one more thing => MBA-Data guru relies on the data from the GMAT-club.
And off-course->Survey's by GMAC have more creditability than survey's by any such website.

To sum it up => It depends on the overall profile.I guess that is why Adcoms love to use the word "Holistic"

I hope it is clear.

Everyone's missing the point. Countries he mentioned don't include US. That takes most of the top business schools out of equation.
You can get into many canadian schools with 650 gmat regardless if you come from overly represented applicant pool or not.
You have to pinpoint what you want to achieve and why and where from.

I did not miss that.
GMAT is important regardless of the country. :)

And it would be very difficult for an INDIAN to get in with a 650 at Ivey,Mcgill,Schulich,Rotman etc.
Its not impossible.Just difficult.
GMAT is an extremely important of the admissions process but so is the interview/GPA etc.

Ya for sure GMAT is important but its not as difficult to get into canadian school as it it to get into top american school. But regardless OP needs to do more research. Right now he sounds like that nagging gf who's hungry and wants some food but won't tell you what exactly

Hi Everyone,

PFB for my profile and suggest me some of the best universities to pursue my MBA with good career options on completing the degree/course.

I am willing to study in following countries,
- Germany
- Canada
- Singapore
- Any European countries (similar to Germany education)

I am from India.

10th Grade score - 88.40%
12th Grade score - 79.58%
UG (Engineering - ECE) - CGPA - 7.31/10
Work experience - IT (Domain - Analytics and Information Management) - 1.6 years (as on April 2017)

Note - I am planning to take GMAT by July 2017 (Also please suggest me the ideal GMAT score for getting admitted into B schools with good career options)

Thanks in Advance!

First of all: when were you thinking of applying? I am asking since 1.6 years of work experience is not a lot, most schools want applicants to have 2 years of experience or more (we are talking MBA programs here, not MiM, right?). So if your work experience in total will be less than 2 years that could impact your chances of admission as well.

Second of all: there are tons of good schools in all the countries you mentioned, so you would need to be a bit more specific about what’s important to you when it comes to business schools in order for me to recommend business schools for you. Could you clarify what your post-MBA goal is, as well as where in the world you would want to end up after your MBA?
