I would not look for a certain date in advance! You should first of all concentrate on the test preparation and then, if you are ready to score higher, you can choose a date. Most students make the mistake to set themselves under pressure by choosing the date first...

If you prepare correctly (no matter how long it takes) you will score higher and improve your score. That is the main aspect to consider.

Also, you should consider taking an online course with a score improvement guarantee. Then you can study without any financial risk.

Optimus Prep's 180+ hours on demand course seems to be a perfect product for you and is offered for a special rate of only $199

Just analyze if the mistakes that happened were due to pressure & timing issues or were they conceptual.
If it is conceptual or knowledge gap, then you must spend more time on getting thorough with the concepts, else a few mocks with change of strategy should be enough.
Economist is tough in general.
Purchase the add-on of GMAT PREP. You will get a couple more additional tests to help you judge better.

In QA it was mostly silly mistakes that I made mainly due to lack of time, except 2-3 questions where there were new methods of solving shown, but not necessarily new concepts par se.There are always a few questions in QA that take up a lot of my time and lead to lack of enough time for the other questions.
I'm really hoping to cut out such questions at the outset.Wonder how do i go about it!

In VA though it was really strange. In the Economist CAT i answered a larger number of questions correctly than Kaplan, yet got a far lower score.Weird! :?:
I checked some of the mistakes that I made in the V32 score and some of them were careless mistakes that I feel was mainly due to a lack of concentration and also the fact that I was taking too long with a few CRs.Also there was this question in CR for which I was unable to understand the answer options.
Am targetting end of November for a GMAT retake.WIll it be too early as far as my preparation is concerned and too late with regards to applying in R2 ?
Let me know what you think!

It's hard to outperform your home scores by much, so use them as your guide. You'll generally see some score inflation on any retake, so definitely use fresh tests for this kind of diagnosis, and always take full exams, with official timing, essay, IR, etc.

Some people benefit from setting a test date in order to provide a little study motivation, and if you're planning to apply Round 2, you don't have a huge window anyway. So push now and then go in and do your best, but it would of course be great if you could go in having already hit 700+ on one or more new exams.

Yeah, you're right.I should go for the retake at the earliest.I am thinking of end of Nov.Maybe I'll take a few fresh tests before that,to see if I can hit the 720 mark.
And yes,i am one of those guys who will be motivated once I set a test date. But then I don't want to take that risk of being ill prepared for it.Since this is a retake I don't want to leave any loose ends.
But will end of Nov be too late for R2.I have around 4+ years of work experience and I don't want to lose a whole year.
