The problem is I want to use the optional essay to address my poor GPA.... Can my optional essay address more than one topic? Does anyone have a definite answer as to whether I will still be able to apply as a Lebanese. I got a 760 and I reaaaaalllly don't want to have to take this thing again :(...

760 is an excellent score and it is not necessary to retake. Instead, focus on the other parts of your application. You may show your diverse background by referring to it in the other essays, it doesn't necessarily have to be on the optional essay.

Hope this helps!

I am a dual citizen (Canadian-Lebanese). I plan on applying to Stanford and was wondering whether applying as a Lebanese citizen would give me a better chance.

Also, I took the GMAT as a Canadian because I was worried my Lebanese passport would not be ready in time (I was renewing it) to present at the test center. Will this be an issue if I decide to apply as a Lebanese?

Thanks in advance.

Well anyhow you will be letting them know about both Nationalities. And its good you have both. Lebanese can make an interesting story, and being Canadian makes getting the work visa in the US easier. So use it to your advantage,

Best,
Jon

Hi there,

Congrats on a killer GMAT score! You don't have to worry about that test again. You should shoot them straight about your background and build a story around why your heritage helps you in your immediate and long term goals, no need to handcuff yourself to just one. Best of luck!
