T - 1. Jangling nerves and an inability to focus on anything else! I wonder if Yale calls international students a day earlier, like some of these other colleges do.
I don't think so, for both R1 2013 and R2 2012 the calls started on the day of the decision.

Power move if yale sent out results 30 minutes before harvard comes out.

Does anyone know when they update the application portal?

For Round 1, the official scheduled time was by 5pm est, but I believe most accepted people were notified by phone (with a congratulatory email from an adcom member) earlier in the day. Best of luck to all the Round 2 applicants tomorrow!

I received my status update for R1 around 5:30 ET. Phone calls started going out around noon or 1pm ET or so (at least for domestic applicants), and as haxx mentioned, adcom sent out congratulatory emails a little after that (this was particularly useful if you forgot your cell phone, the battery died, etc). Adcom did leave voicemails if you didn't pick up the phone, so hopefully that appeases some of the worries.

Good luck tomorrow to all the R2 applicants and R1 waitlisters!

And, so you can mark your calendars (R1 matriculants & future R2/WL acceptees) - US regional receptions are being held during the weeks of April 1 and April 8. Registration is up in the admit portal :)

I am a waitlister from R1, and still waiting for good news from Yale today.

As long as I remember correctly, admits on R1 in Asia got the call at 8ish PM which means very early in the morning in EST; he(or she) got the call from Yale adcom(or alumni?) in Asia. Speaking of myself, email was in my inbox with status change notification around 4 or 5 AM next day.

Good luck for all R2 candidates and R1 waitlisters!

Office will open up in 2-3 hours. Guess we can expect calls in a few hours after that. Btw anyone else counting the minutes too?

GOOD LUCK to everyone today!

We are all rooting for you.

Unfortunately, today is also our student government presidential elections, in which yours truly has to give a speech, so I won't be able to join you in real time celebration and commiseration. So you'll also have to take my "congratulations" early as well. Looking forward to talking to some of you on the phone, and seeing all of you at Welcome Weekend.

Also - expect there to be a gap between the initial international calls and the domestic/US time zone calls. Last year started around 3:30p EST.

Asia calls started around 6:30 am ET during R1 (about an hour ago now). Not sure if that will continue for R2 but we'll find out soon enough.

Good luck today!! I hope all your phones ring with someone calling from a 203 area code.

Every time my phone rings, I skip a beat! I'm sure my callers would have noticed the irritation in my voice.
