As I had a pretty solid verbal base I never thought I needed a verbal course. How wrong was I! I was stuck at a score of V37-V38, knowing I could do way better. My boyfriend had gone up +8 points using egmat's online verbal course so I decided to give it a try.

In less than a month watching egmat's verbal videos, taking notes and interiorizing important concepts, I managed to score a 750 (V44, 98th percentile!). Their approach is really easy to follow. Do not lose motivation with the first couple of videos, they start off with basic stuff but target harder concepts later on.

Overall, you can't go wrong with egmat for verbal prep. Plus, the staff is super nice and approachable if you need anything from them.

e-gmat's verbal course was a great resource during my GMAT preparation. After trying various online resources and failing to improve my verbal score, I decided to give it a go with e-gmat trial. The way the course is structured and the focus on meaning made me buy the course right away. e-GMAT focuses on the key aspects you need to learn and you can always benchmark where how you are doing with the powerful scholarium tool. In about six weeks, I managed to improve my verbal score from V29 to V35. My only regret is to have not discovered e-gmat before and not having more time to improve my verbal ability

I hail from one of the most represented pool in GMAT community,an Indian Engineer.Just like most other Indian Engineers I am Fairly good in quant ( came quite naturally I must say),but I am not that bad in Verbal as well( may be average). However there was one section in verbal that I dreaded the most,Sentence Correction. The moment I started preparing for GMAT I realized that I was good in CR, ok in RC but was horrible in SC.I thought that with some effort and time I can improve my SC skills .However despite completing Manhattan SC Guide twice my SC was nowhere near the level required to score above 700 in actual GMAT. It was then one of my colleague told me about E -mat. After attending Free Sessions I made up my mind that this course can surely equip me with skills needed to improve my SC.Since I was good in Quant I opted for Verbal Online course(I wanted to learn at my own pace and comfort).I started watching video lessons and each lesson introduced me to an unseen aspect of topic at hand.I will lsit down how video lessons from E-gmat changed the way I used to think and solve the GMAT Question:
A)Critical Reasoning: I was fairly well in CR but after watching E-gmat CR lessons I changed my approach to solve a CR question altogether.I realized the importance of Visualization and Pre-thinking.One can solve any CR question to 80% accuracy with proper pre-thinking.

B)Reading Comprehension:My RC skills improved a lot after watching RC video lessons and incorporating said strategies.Earlier I used to try to save my time by just skimming through the Passage and that used to affect my accuracy a lot. After watching video lessons I learned the importance of understanding a passage thoroughly for improved accuracy.I also started coming up with Main Point of the passage right after solving the passage irrespective if that is asked or not.
C)Sentence Correction:After going through E-GMAT SC lessons my SC skills improved a lot.Earlier i used to overemphasis Grammar instead of Meaning and because of that I used to end up confused most of the time. After going through a lessons I started paying more attention to meaning and it did help a lot.I also used to solve section wise quiz's immediately after completing the lesson and that helped me test whether I am applying learned concepts properly or not.

I had also prepared notes for each lesson so that I can skim through those whenever needed.I also liked the structured approach taught for each type of question and with adequate practice they become your habit to solve specific question. In my preparation Scholaranium also played a very important part as it helped in testing acquired skill under timed condition's.I made a point to solve on Timed test of 12-14 questions everyday. Though I am not done with my GMAT yet but I am writing this review to put forth my experience of E-GMAT Verbal Online with the hope that it would help others like me.

eGMAT Verbal Live Prep, 700 to 750 in 6 Months

eGMAT Verbal Live Prep was the only reason why I was able to show a 50 point increase over the course of my 2 attempts, going from V35 to V40 in 6 months.

I gave my first GMAT in November 2016. I scored 700 (Q51 V35) - very low in verbal and I could see that I needed help with verbal. A friend told me about e-GMAT and how the Verbal section had been instrumental in his rise in Verbal score. I immediately enrolled in eGMAT Verbal Live Prep (VLP) and was provided with a very detailed and systematic study plan that I needed to follow. This plan kept me in check all throughout and made sure that the proper foundations were laid before advanced concepts were introduced. The tutors were very helpful be it moderating strategy sessions, providing lectures via pre recorded videos or answering to the questions posted on online forums and their own question forums. The articles covering various concepts in SC, CR and RC were very well written and have been appreciated by many online forum goers.

I started with SC and I was amazed to see how seemingly straightforward concepts such as subject verb agreement, modifier and parallelism could be used to make difficult questions. Herein lies eGMAT’s greatest strength: to break down seemingly impossible to understand SC prompts into smaller segments and then analyze in detail each component of the sentence. The videos started with simple concepts and then finally went onto more advanced concepts such as modifiers and parallelism. eGMAT showed that there is a method and logic behind every step even in SC and that if you are systematic with your approach , you can tackle toughest of SC questions with absolute ease. The insistence on understanding the meaning of SC prompts removed my fear of completely underlined sentences and led me to high timed accuracy in OG,GPREP qbank and exam pack 1. I realized the importance of following a set method to tackle a particular question type only after my 1st attempt, until when I used to employ brute force methods. eGMAT showed me that there was elegance in the ways to tackle the different questions types and subtypes. The videos were very clear, I was able to play them on any media be it windows or iOS without any issues, pre and post assessment quizzes were of particular help in understanding what needs to be focused on. One of the most useful things in their videos was the ability to see the “summary” slide that will summarize the contents of the preceding video.

Once I got a grasp of SC, I moved onto CR, following their detailed schedule and again saw that there was set method to every CR question type. The focus on understanding the conclusion, how premises relate to the conclusion, “PRETHINKING”, “NEGATION TECHNIQUE” etc techniques were hugely helpful. The videos started with the topic at hand, followed by some very thoughtfully crafted question to cement what was covered in the videos. Prethinking enabled me to understand the scope of the question, the relationships between elements in the CR prompt and understand why the incorrect answer choices were incorrect. In GMAT, every incorrect question is wrong for a particular/solid reason. If you are eliminating a choice without that reason, you will end up choosing incorrect options. eGMAT CR provided the tools to understand why is an option incorrect, be it out of scope, similarly worded but incorrect option, partially correct options, opposite choice etc. Unless you understand how GMAT can give you incorrect options based on above reasons, you will not be confident in choosing an answer (my situation in the 1st attempt). Again, I only realized the importance of applying a set method just before my 2nd attempt. eGMAT’s focus on breaking down any argument into its respective elements, understanding the linkages and prethinking provided you 70% of the total work required for answering a question correctly. Rest 30% would come from POE of options provided. I was able to increase my accuracy in OG CR questions from 55% to 90%+ with eGMAT’s CR module.

The 3rd step was finishing the RC module which again taught a couple of useful tactics to be an active reader and to be involved with the passage. eGMAT RC also provided the tools to understand why is an option incorrect, be it out of scope, similarly worded but incorrect option, partially correct options, opposite choice etc. Once you became fully engrossed with the passage (by following eGMAT’s advice), finding the correct answer via POE became very straightforward.

Finally, VLP also included Verbal Scholaranium and this is an absolute must to complement verbal practice from OG and GMATPREP. Scholaranium comes with an “ability” evaluation technique that tells where exactly do you stand (percentile wise) for a particular section (SC or CR or RC) or verbal (all sections combined). This was a very useful tool for me as I was able to do targeted practice for areas I was faltering on. I used to use scholaranium to hone my skills via sectional quizzes and even sub sectional targeted practice. The collection of 600+ questions is an amazingly crafted collection consisting of questions from 3 difficulty levels. The explanations are very detailed and are provided for all the questions and you can even post your doubts and one of the eGMAT experts will respond to your doubts soon enough.

To summarize, eGMAT VLP is a must buy for all non-native English speakers. Thank you e-GMAT team for helping me in tough times and keep up the great work you guys are doing !

I had joined Jamboree for both English and Maths coaching. As I had a good base in maths, I didn't have to study much but English needed a lot of effort. Even though Jamboree is very famous for physical coaching, it didn't suit me. Reason being their approach was quite formula driven specially for Verbal. Say for example, to solve a SC question I first read the options and strike off the incorrect ones and then look at the question.
When I was introduced to E-GMAT by my friend, I found their approach to be quite simple and effective. Break down the question into multiple phrases and solve it one by one in a methological manner. This helped me a lot in cracking SC and CR.
Another advantage is that I saved time in travelling to the coaching centre, could watch the video anytime I want either on my tablet, on my laptop or on my phone. Their free sessions are actually a blessing in disguise for anyone who wants that one extra thing to crack the exam.
They readily promote it on their website that if we don't like the first 25% of the course, entire fee is refunded.
With the help of e-GMAT, I could jump from 570 to 680 but had to cancel the score since I wanted a 700+.
I will definitely suggest everyone to take this and then give a shot to the exam.

As a native speaker but a child of immigrants, I struggled with any sort of verbal section found on standardized tests i.e. STAR testing and SATs. I mostly focused on my strength which was math and science which is why I'm a chemical engineer. When I started my GMAT journey, I was averaging around V27. My ego got the best of me. I was getting very frustrated because in my mind I should be getting these questions correct since I was a native speaker. I did a prep course when I first started my journey and supplemented with the PowerScore bibles. But my verbal score was not increasing. After attending a free workshop from e-GMAT I was sold on purchasing the verbal online prep because of e-GMAT techniques. I put my ego aside and it was the best decision. After completing most of the e-GMAT verbal online prep, my verbal has increased to 34. I am still not where I need to be on verbal. But after months of struggling I am finally seeing the results after using e-GMAT. Since this course is for non-speakers, e-GMAT breaks down the sentence correction to the basics. I found that the most helpful. I really like the easy to understand videos. And the new interface is great too. I am able to study on my phone during my train ride to work. If you're a native speaker and struggling, I would recommend e-GMAT.

I took E-GMAT quant and verbal online course 6 months back while I was struggling to know what GMAT is all about.

E-GMAT Online course gave me a quick overview of what to expect in GMAT and How to tackle them. It comes with the Study plan session .I'd suggest all of you to go through the study plan videos and then start the course. It is a very systematic course which has been designed in such a way that even if you miss out on learning about some GMAT tips elsewhere, you'll find them in this course.
Apart from the Interactive video sessions, Scholaranium is one of the most useful tools which worked for me. Since I get very less time to prepare for GMAT in the evening after work, I used to solve the number of questions I was comfortable with. I could also choose the difficulty of the questions. That made me solve some questions every day. Which is very important while preparing for GMAT.
I haven’t given the GMAT yet, but I see myself improving. Thanks to E-GMAT.

Attractive and Focused Learning : A journey of GMAT with e-GMAT

GMAT exam is more than mere an exam and it requires a special kind of preparation. I am using this Special Preparation term because it demands some extra efforts to build concepts and apply those concepts within short time span. I became worried to even think about this exam in past and the reason behind worrisome was my Verbal skills. However, I mustered up courage after talking to my friend who recently scored 710. He suggested me to subscribe e-GMAT Verbal Online course at first instance and start preparation to master some key skills to ace verbal part of GMAT.

There are many important features of e-GMAT which I liked a lot.
SC: I think Sentence Correction is the most premier section of e-GMAT verbal online course. The interactive video lessons are fun to watch. It helps to build up concepts from very basic level and to apply those learned concepts in post assessment Quizzes. After each module, application of concepts to OG questions boosts the confidence level. This is highly recommended part of this course
CR: I like this part for two reasons. Firstly, Its pre- thinking approach helps to imagine correct answer before looking at answer choices. Once you grasp this technique, It becomes your second nature to assume answers and relate those answers with given answer choices. Elimination of wrong answers become very easy task after this. Secondly, Content of lessons is very much diverse which helps to understand the different types of topics presented in GMAT test .

RC: I can not be more thankful to e-GMAT team after going through this section. Reading strategies are the most important aspect. These strategies helps to get immersed into different topics and understand the key insights and details in simplest form. This has improved my reading ability to next level and i started 700 level questions with much ease as compared before.

I believe this was the wisest decision to subscribe for e-GMAT verbal course. I learned concepts which are now helping me in my daily life as well. It has improved many skills such as comprehension, evaluation of different scenarios, reasoning critically.

I am thankful to e-GMAT team who come up with such amazing concept of interactive learning. I recommend this to everyone who wants to improve verbal skills exponentially within short span of time. Good luck to everyone.

My journey from clueless to informed

I am a non-native English speaker who has never come across any kind of verbal questions throughout my life in any of my examinations. I started my prep very randomly. I was in a misconception that the more we keep solving the better we get. It may also be due to the fact that I didn't respect the exam enough. I gave my first GMAT attempt about 6 months ago. I got a 650 (V29 Q48). This was devastating but a good learning experience. The biggest learning for me was that I needed structure to my learning. I have to learn rules and practise them to own them.

I decided to get some guidance. I have been searching many tutoring classes, online material, books etc. but everything seemed to be very overwhelming. Then my friend suggested Egmat. I took the free trial and started doing sentence correction. I was hooked from the word go. The systematic approach to video lessons, application exercise and practice files gave me the much need structure. It is not overwhelming anymore since it took me through the habit learning and application. The OG questions turned out to be the icing on the cake.

I bought the verbal online pack. On buying this I got access to the Quant scholaranium and IR videos. I thought it was pretty generous. I started my prep and within weeks I could see a huge development in my scores. My accuracy in SC and CR have gone up from around 40% to 81%. RCs were a huge help as well. The scholaranium questions helped me get better and faster. By solving the Quant Scholaranium I was getting better in Quant as well.

I gave my next GMAT attempt about a month and a half later. I thought it was pretty hasty but I felt pretty good about it. Though I just got a 700 (V39 Q48); it was more to do with my health condition at that moment. I wrote my exam with suffering from viral fever, sour throat and severe running nose. I owe my improvement in verbal completely to Egmat. My score improved from V29 to V38 in a span of 1 1/2 months. I am very confident that in my next attempt I can secure a very good score. I keep suggesting my friends and colleagues about Egmat. I go to an extent of advising them to just blindly follow Egmat and no other material

Thanks a lot, Egmat for helping me gain confidence and build the capability to ace in my GMAT and thanks to all those who read my review until the very end. I hope I was able to help you gain a perspective on Egmat prep.

I am a non-native speaker and frankly speaking I was terrified about the verbal section of GMAT when I started prep for the first time. Moreover, I am not an avid reader of books or magazines which adds up to it. I actually found about eGMAT through an advertisement on facebook, for a free webminar on a quant topic. When I took the webminar the next hour I decided to go with eGMAT for my prep although I knew nothing about the verbal course. However, I unknowingly made the right decision or rather the best decision by purchasing the entire course and not just quant online.
eGMAT verbal online is THE BEST resource anyone can ever get for his/her GMAT prep. The course has not only helped me in acing the GMAT but also helped me in improving my writing skills and comprehending skills. The eGMAT courses doesn't teach you tips, tricks or shortcuts. Concept, concept and concept is all that matters. When you know the core of the concept and can understand what the test maker is trying to examine you in, getting a good verbal score is a piece of cake and eGMAT helps you in going to that level.
Weirdly, while going through the eGMAT verbal course I never felt like I am learning something extraordinary or something out of the box. The instructors make tough things look so simple that when you answer 700+ level questions you still donot feel that you ate answering a high level question. This helped me a lot in building up my confidence.
The primary concepts such as prethinking, etc. which are mastered through the eGMAT course are the key for a good verbal score. I can go on and on about my experience with the course and the words won't be enough. You'll have to experience it yourself and trust me this would be one decision you'd never regret in your lifetime.
