I had registered for the course a few months ago but had little time to study due to work constraints. I finally found two weeks of freedom to concentrate and prepare properly for the GMAT. I found myself constantly in the V35 area. With little time left having covered Maths the first week, I went through an intense study prep by first watching the SC free webinar which was very useful for me in approaching each SC question and made me ponder further on the egmat verbal prep. I had always picked out answers based on what sounded right but failed to ignore the most important aspect - Meaning. e-Gmat course was the first among many to revise my strategy in this regard having taken gmat last year. The three step approach was critical in edging me towards the 90%+ accuracy. I quickly learnt a technique or strategy for attacking each type of question. The Reading comprehension package was great for dissecting any type of passage para-graph by para-graph looking our for transition verbs and breaking down jargons. I was more confident after going through the course

How I found e-gmat Verbal Live
As i researched for programs, I noticed that e-gmat had a lot of good reviews (especially worth the bucks) from mostly non-native English speakers. and it costs about 199 dolls for the English package. It is definitly worth it. If you want to get a feel before purchasing, please subscribe to the free webinar for SC, RC and CR to see for yourself. I am sure you would tread the same path :-). The live sessions especially on SC and critical reasoning was absolutely fantastic. Did pretty much all the work for me than all the 100+ page guide I had read much earlier before getting bogged down and taking a break

E-gmat enabled me to cover all basis. The live verbal sessions along with brilliant techniques to solve questions faster and with greater accuracy was core to what made me improve my score. It was highly interactive and the instructor cared about the audience progress. Its essential to master the strategies and follow them completely in order to score high on verbal.

The 3 step process worked wonders for me. The video format of the course is very effective, highly interactive and provides in depth knowledge of all the things you need to master SC. The course is organized and has a nice flow which helps you get the maximum learning out of it. I would strongly strongly recommend this to anyone. I have spread the word to friends and will continue to spread. Within a week of study for english, I was able to obtain a V39. If I decide to retake for a higher score, I would go in on only eGmat Verbal Live Prep for english, spend a bit more time too. Wish fellow e-Gmatters the best :-)

E-GMAT is an absolute boon to GMAT test takers

Dear Fellow GMAT Test takers,

I, Arun Kumar took GMAT on Sep 10th,2016 and scored 720. Let me explain the Pros and Cons of E-GMAT and how it helped me score a 720.

I am a non- native English speaker and took GMAT twice. In my first attempt, I scored 650 ( Q 46, V34) and in my second attempt scored 720 ( Q49, V 38). I can definitely say E-GMAT was pivotal in improving my score. In the very first mock test that I took, I scored 560. I remember scoring V 26 in that mock test.

This shattered my confidence of ever crossing the 700 barrier. I did not give up hope and started with MGMAT material. MGMAT material is the absolute best to refresh your Quant skills, but their SC book was too much for me to absorb and I was unable to apply the same during the test.

I use to go over the MGMAT SC book over and over again. Even though, I understood the concepts, I was unable to apply the same in timed GMAT mock tests. It just frustrated me and made me feel incompetent. I knew that I have hit a road block and had to figure out an alternative path.

I was planning on taking an In class training, but it was an expensive option and did not fit my work schedule. This is when I researched my options and found E-GMAT online live prep program.

The program, which is in video format, was easy to assimilate and is organized based on weight-age of topics too. I was amazed to see how I can understand the core concepts with ease and apply the same during my mocks.

If you are struggling with SC then E-GMAT will help you nail it for sure. SC is unique and many questions can be solved by pattern recognition. However, This takes time and effort. You do need a structured approach in which you understand the grammar rules and common error types. E-GMAT helps you achieve this. I would definitely recommend you take the ability quiz at the beginning of each section and practice on their quizzes as they help you not only identify your weak areas but also analyze what made you choose the wrong answer.

Once you understand these two aspects your mind can see a pattern. When you are taking the test you become like MATRIX-NEO and can see the traps ahead of you.

I am naturally good at CR, yet I used Aristotle CR guide to bolster my CR preparation. RC was the silent killer, which messed up my score greatly. I used E-GMAT RC videos and Chinese RC burn to bolster my process and practiced OG questions countless times to improve on speed and accuracy.

E-GMAT PROS:

1) Video based learning.
2) Prompt response on questions from trainers.
3) Pricing and you get GMAT club tests free. This sealed the deal for me.
4) Ability Quizzes and analysis.
5) Quiz questions closely resemble the GMAT test, but I have seen few odd balls.
6) In All major concept videos such as parallelism, -ing modifier, you can review the crux of the topic without the need to watch the entire video again.
7) You have a one week trial period, I believe, during which you can try the program and check if it suits your learning style.
8) Commitment of trainers. Payal, Shraddha and many other trainers truly want to see you succeed and show commitment.

CONS:
1) CR and RC training videos can be improved. If E-GMAT can make their CR and RC sections as good as their SC section is , then they will surely dominate the GMAT training program world.

I have not used their Quant training program, so I cannot comment on it.

In short, If you are struggling with SC,CR and RC then definitely E_GMAT will help you succeed. However, E-GMAT is not a magic pill. The course will help you 60%, but you need to put in 50 % ( 110%) to slay GMAT.

I will be writing a note on how I scored 720 in which I will talk about what GMAT actually tests. The soft skills that I believe are critical for your success.

I am working on my application now. Once I am done with the same, you can expect to read my story. Till then work hard and be focused my friends.

All the best!!!.

Regards,
Arun

Hi amariappan ,

That was a very detailed review and quite helpful. Are you now taking help from an Admission counsellor ?

October 30, 2016

Hi @brijeshbangalore ,

Thanks for the comment. I am applying to only one program -"Chicago Booth Weekend MBA program". I have several reasons to choose this particular program and will write a separate article about the same. I have been looking at various admission consultant's reviews . Even though many of them sound promising, I believe I can write my essays without any assistance. I am using ApplicantLab to help me frame my essays and it is way cheaper than what many admission consultants charge for their service.

Once I get my admit, I will write a detailed review on how I prepared for GMAT, what does GMAT actually tests and few tips on app process.

Thanks,
Arun

E-gmat verbal, I would say my savior ..I was literally struggling to remember the rules in the Manhattan SC book ...and the less i talk about my application of those rules in official question, the better it is...After about 3-4 weeks of studying Manhattan SC I was not getting even 50% of the question correct ...then from somewhere I got this link for free webinar for SC ..and trust me within half an hour of the webinar I made my decision to join verbal live prep from e-gmat ..but then the usual skepticism started so I waited to attend another free session which was 15 days from then ...and finally made my decision to join ...
If I regret anything about my preparation, it is those 15 days I wasted in thinking about making the decision..which could have well made a difference of another 20 points atleast to my score...

I am a non native, but I always thought that my spoken and written English is almost perfect. Lately, when I started preparing for GMAT, I got that realization that the colloquial English is different from pure grammatical and logical English. As a result, I struggled with my verbal section's score. Then finally I signed up at egmat and undertook its 3 step approach for SC and specific approaches for RC and CR. The content is organized nicely with n number of examples and practice questions. Provided that one put in one's own share of efforts, this course can do wonders with your verbal score. Since i am still preparing to give another shot at gmat, I could feel that I am improving my method to approach questions.

I took the online verbal course by eGMAT and I must say that I was very impressed by the way the topics were covered. The matter is quite relevant to the pattern and also the questions and quizzes included were of great help in improving the GMAT score. I would recommend E-GMAT verbal prep to anyone preparing for GMAT. The Scholoranium which comes free with egmat Verbal courses is a beast in itself. A humongous collection of questions & their deep analysis will take you further in your gmat prep. The analytics it provides for the questions attempted is also world class. Often the students have to prepare their own error logs using Excel and what not. This tool automates a lot of that and gives you insights which you can utilize to improve your performance in areas where you are not performing well.
Overall, its a great practice tool to further refine your gmat verbal prep. You yourself will see the results after you have been halfway through the questions database as the concepts covered and tested are thorough and comprehensive.
For few very tough questions, the explanation might be confusing but don't get disheartened if you get them wrong, focus more on enhancing your learning with each attempt rather than trying to get everything right all the time.
If you have taken some other course, you can also buy this separately for which I highly recommend to do so.

Dear friends,
I'm Rahul!

I hope this small story of mine finds you at the pink of your health !
Before i share my GMAT experience, i humbly apologize to spare me if i make any errors in my write-up as it's late at night and i'm just too tired to examine my writing skills ; i just want my thoughts to come over.
I heard of GMAT for the first time when i was in the final year of my college. It was really intimidating to listen to my friends when they discussed how tough it's to crack the GMAT. Well on those days, i never thought that i'd be taking the GMAT, not even in my wildest dreams. But thoughts gradually evolved after my professional career started in 2013. I saw the importance of an MBA to propel my career in the direction i wanted it to. As i delved into the details of B-schools, i was compelled by ISB's pedagogy and its experiential learning approach. So , i decided to take the GMAT in 2015 to realize my dream of making it to ISB. However, I was transferred to any new business unit, and things started falling apart as i was too bogged down by my professional commitments. So, life went on as it was and so did my job. Although i could hardly manage time for my preparation amidst my professional life, i never let a slightest dent to affect my belief that i could do it. With more than 3 years at my job, i realized it was high-time to get started if i wanted to excel and grow; it was the now or never situation for me. So, i enrolled myself at mba.com and started looking for options to get off the mark. A dear friend of mine, who is pursuing his MS in Washington, suggested that he heard of an online course called e-GMAT, and i should look at it for once. I enrolled for the free trial at e-GMAT's website, and was pretty satisfied with the selected topics i went through. Since i didn't have much time to do a lot of research, i immediately enrolled for its verbal online course and never regretted my decision; i didn't opt for the verbal live prep course as i wanted to study at my own pace and comfort because of my demanding job. I gradually picked up the pace and accelerated my preparation to take my GMAT before mid-Sep 2016 as i planned to apply to ISB in round 1 only. e-GMAT helped me to explore the subtleties of standard English grammar which are used in solving the sentence correction section of the GMAT. While many non-natives can claim to have good command over English, i bet everyone will be surprised to know that our assumptions on correct English and correct usage will fall apart as we delve into the details of what's actually required at GMAT. In addition, the modules on critical reasoning was also very thought-provoking as it helped to develop pre-thinking approach to successfully take on the reasoning section. Pre-thinking approach gives you an ability to assess the line of reasoning and come to your own answers without even looking at the choices. this experience has helped me in my AWA section too as this section also asks you to identify the flaw in the reasoning. The icing on the cake is the scholaranium section of the course. It housed a large number of questions, from the simplest to the toughest, to specifically judge your preparation level with varying difficulty level. it really honed my preparation for the verbal section. After 1.5 months of preparation, i took the GMAT on Sep22, 2016. I scored a 710 (Q50 and V37) in my very first attempt, and i was happy with my performance (couldn't have asked for more with 12+ hours in my job for almost 29 days a month). My overall scored improved by 70 points, and my verbal score improved by 9 points since i had taken my 1st mock, in which i scored a 640. I realize that i could have improved on my verbal score if i had a little more time to brush my verbal preparation further, but nevertheless i guess this is how life goes; sometimes, you don't have the luxury of too much preparation time. I'm truly indebted to the entire e-GMAT team for its peerless guidance. I've applied to my dream B-school and have been eagerly waiting for a positive response. Fingers crossed !!! Wish me luck !!!

Good luck to all of you for your endeavors !!!

I highly recommend the e-GMAT Quant Live Prep course to anyone who feels comfortable in the quantitative section but still don't manage to reach Q49-51 score. The course stresses on the importance of little details that make the difference during the exam or practice questions. It helps you how to face complex questions under time pressure circumstances.

Its practice exercises are a golden mine and you must squeeze all the key takeaways that each of those exercises puts forward.

Now I feel in a great shape to score Q49+ thanks to the great material offered by e-GMAT. Hopefully I will be able to share a new success story with all of you very soon. Fingers crossed

I highly recommend e-GMAT Verbal Online course to anyone who is struggling with verbal section of GMAT. This course makes you being more confident when you respond to any verbal question. The gain of confidence results in better time management and eventually better overall score.

By the time I registered on e-GMAT Verbal Online I was completely lost and had no clue about what I was doing wrong in SC. I felt that I knew all the grammar rules but still was unable to respond with confidence. Now I know why I was failing and my performance has improved considerably.

I have always been pretty comfortable with Quant section. After my first attempt, I realized that my verbal approach needs to change, specially for SC questions. After reading a lot of reviews on GMATClub, I decided to go with E-Gmat verbal Online course.

I found the Verbal Online course fantastic! I have gone through a lot of stuff for Verbal section before: MGMAT books, Powerscore Bible, and what not, but the content and topic clarity I found with verbal online course is unmatched. I believe it is a one stop resource that anyone would need to crack verbal section on GMAT. The Scholaranium made improving and tracking accuracy really easy. Kudos to E-Gmat!

The course was very comprehensive especially the SC section. The best way to efficiently use this course is to go through the concept files and solve the scholaranium questions. The support provided by e-gmat experts are also amazing. The concepts of PreThinking and falsification condition while solving the CR questions was amazing. The RC section contains ample number of questions to equip you with nice preparation. The practice tool Scholaranium is among the best tools available online to practice GMAT like questions. Not only are the the practice questions great but also the analysis are immensely helpful in identifying your weak areas within each section of SC/CR/RC.
I wish they would have more full length practice tests available as part of Scholaranium.
