After giving GMAT couple of times, I was clueless as how to increase my verbal score. After lot of efforts my verbal score didn't improve. In the meantime, I read about e-GMAT - a course for natives. Out of curiosity, I decided to attend the free session for SC. It was something I was really looking for. I was so impressed with the SC free session that I decided to attend the free CR and RC session. After attending the session, I got the confidence that I can still improve in Verbal section. I enrolled for Verbal Live prep. The best thing about the course is the explanation.
SC - After going through the SC course I realized the importance of meaning. The explanations, the LIVE sessions are really worth attending. All the concepts required for the GMAT are well covered and I feel more confident while solving SC questions. My accuracy improved from 50% to ~85% but more importantly I eliminate answers for a specific reason. Thanks e-GMAT for helping me out.
CR - Critical reasoning was one of my strengths, but after attending the prethinking session, time required to solve the CR question went down drastically. e-GMAT CR course provides a systematic approach, which is required to be successful in GMAT. I hope this approach will really help me to save time, which I can use for other difficult problems.
RC - This is the section that troubled me the maximum. However, the method of reading the passage (as explained by e-GMAT) has helped to understand the passage better. If I need to tell in terms of percentage improvement, RC will stand first. I still need to improve my accuracy and timing to get my desired score in GMAT.
I will be writing my exam in ~15 days from now. I hope I can improve on RC and excel in SC and CR to get a score in the range of ~38-40.

GMAT (2nd Attempt: 28 Aug)740

After my first attempt in GMAT (690) , I realized i didn’t have a structured approach for my GMAT preparation. When i bumped into Rajat's free webinar about strategies to score 750+, i was impressed with the content of the course. After going through the reviews in gmatclub for the Verbal live prep, i quickly enrolled for it.
Content: this is the best part of the VLP course of eGMAT. They have dissected every possible concept of SC, RC and CR to the minutest level that you absolutely need no other additional material other than OG.
Even after completing OG and MGMAT SC twice during my preparation, I had a lot of scope for improvement in the SC Section after completing the SC Course.
Weekend Webinars: Helps you be on track with the study schedule provided by eGMAT. The discussions are very useful for first timers. the instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable.
They quickly address your concerns both in the classes as well as in the eGMAT forums.
Ability Quizes & Workshops: Very useful in finding out where you stand after you complete the course. I completed these workshops at the very end of the course and it helped me address issues such as timing.
Scholarnium: The best resource of high quality questions with detailed solutions. The responses are well analyzed with respect to timing and difficult level
My only suggestion to the eGMAT team is to explore the possibility of including more questions in the weekend classes.
Overall, i am extremely satisfied with this course. It was one of the main reasons why i had a significant jump in my GMAT verbal score.
Once I decided to start for my GMAT, I gave the GMAT prep practice exam and found that I am decent at Quant but my Verbal needs a lot of push. I have bought books from major publications and started going through. I was able to get a good understanding of the concepts in Verbal but what I found missing is the approach that I need to take to solve the questions. So I was not feeling confident and thought of taking a elearning course. From reviews, I understood that e-Gmat emphasizes on the process much and went ahead to buy the Verbal Live Prep. The course provided not only the concepts but emphasized more on problem solving. This is what I like the most about e-gmat.
Going through the course has helped me gain a lot of confidence. Thank you e-gmat !
E-gmat verbal Online is an excellent course especially for non natives like me,The best thing about this course is that you don't get bogged down easliy as you do while reading heavyweight books from MGMAT /KAPLAN ,it has excellent audio visual modules for clearly understanding each and every concept of Gmat Verbal.
Here are my views about the various sections of Verbal online course:
Sentence Correction: I never paid attention towards meaning centric approach to solve SC questions, but this approach is an excellent tool to improve your accuracy levels from 40-50% to 90%.3 step approach immensely to eliminate the errors and pinpoint the correct answer choice.
Critical Reasoning: Pre-thinking is one of the best tools to tackle CR,it takes time to adapt to use this tool but as soon as get used to it,it helps immensely to eliminate the wrong answer choices.
RC: Steps mentioned in verbal online course helps a great deal to come out of the terror of long RC passages, getting immersed in the package and keeping a focused approach helps in making the correct choice in RC section.
In conclusion i would strongly recommend non-native and native speakers of English to try out e-GMAT courses.it would help you more than any other GMAT courses available in the market.Kudos to Rajat and team for making such a comprehensive verbal gmat course.
I am a current egmat user. I enrolled around Mar'15, but due to some exigencies I could not take the course and validity expired. On requesting to egmat, they considerately helped in extending my course validity without any additional charges.
I am truly moved by this. I am extremely content with their services.
I must say, the best part of the content is its structured approach. The sections are covered in proper detail and the focus is on concepts rather than tricks to solve a problem.
I am not a native English speaker, however, this is not a road block any more for the exam. The step-by-step approach to solve the problems has helped me improve a lot!
I am still working through the learning content and I am yet to write GMAT on 23rd Oct'15, wil keep your posted on the same.
Happy learning.
The new quantitative course recently added by the E-GMAT founders is really helpful; the arguments are dissected per category and at the end of each argument you have the opportunity to practice OG questions with video detailed solutions. The package contain a lot of questions including the free access to 800 Scores test software and above all the free access to the Gmat Club Tests. I would suggest to anyone who wants to assess his performance with Official Guide questions to enroll in this course, the explanations are very clear and the opportunity to get a free access of the GMAT Club Tests for 6 months is a great opportunity do not miss!
I decided to register for the E-GMAT Verbal Course following the suggestions of many students who achieved great results. The sessions of RC, CR and SC are very detailed, they start from a basic level and then they raise their difficulty level. This verbal course is really fit for all the students who are not native English speakers. Pre-thinking, logical structure, the verbal work-shops and the interactive sessions are great tools very useful to increase your performance, accuracy and confidence with the exam. Thanks to E-GMAT, I'm looking forward to face my GMAT Exam with great weapons in my arsenal.
Hi ,
First of all , I would like to thank E-Gmat for helping me to improve my score from 560 to 680 at one go. I am still using the course and hope to cross the 700 barrier.
Coming to the course , this is the best course I have come across. Initially i was confused whether I made a good decision to buy an online course rather going through the books ,but trust me as E-Gmat states in their website 5x learning , i would tell it as 10x learning.
Just learning the concepts won't help, the practial use is something that E-Gmat teaches you. SC,CR and RC are all well structured starting from the basics and going to a next level @ Scholaranium . This is the best tool one can have , the level of difficulty varies from 500 to 700+ .
Apart from they are very helpful , within 24 hours your doubt will get clarified and on the GMAT day eliminating options would seem almost like a cake walk for almost 80 % of the questions.
So without any doubt , I would recommend anyone to go for this brilliant course if you want to improve you verbal score.
Worth buying it !!
Thanks
Arpan
I was a re-taker and looking for a GMAT prep customized for non-native speakers. My main weakness was in verbal section, so I took E-GMAT’s Verbal Live Prep based on the reviews on GMAT-Club and some of my friends who had already taken the course. Best part of the course is that it is valid for a duration of 6 months. Even after going through all the live classes I felt that I needed some more time to really grasp the concept, and I was able to repeat the classes in which I had doubts. This also useful for many people who have erratic work load and have to sometimes pause the prep and start again at a later time. I also found the preparation community very helpful. There is a chat option while the online live classes are going on. This helps to learn from other people as well.
The online videos and concept files are very thoroughly prepared, keeping in mind the problems faced by the non-natives during GMAT preparations. The sequence of the chapters is formulated keeping in mind the progressions one should have while preparing for the exam, from basic grammar concepts (which we usually skip during our high school) to specific type of errors found in GMAT. Overall the course material and the live classes are very much worth it, if you struggle in verbal (especially sentence correction).
The instructors here are available via internal forums or emails. One thing I liked was that after very concept, there are a no. of questions of test the concept and grill it into your mind. Moreover, you can only proceed to the next concept if you clear the concept test. This part was extremely beneficial for me as I sometimes tend to skip the difficult concepts (keeping them for the end, which never comes) and move on.
These guys teach the 3-step process as the basic step towards solving any SC problem. The first part – breaking down the sentence into clauses or fragments – helped me a lot, not only in SC problems, but also to comprehend the GMAT English overall. It made me realize the core mistake I was doing before, i.e., not fully understanding the meaning of the sentence and skipping to the answer choices to look for errors.
I didn’t had time to go thoroughly through the CR and RC packages. The pre-thinking method for the assumption stem questions is good if you can master it.
I had already gone through the MGMAT strategy guides and Thursday’s with Ron SC videos before buying the EGMAT course. For me the mixture of these did the trick. If you don’t want to take the full course at once, you can always take specific courses like SC or CR or RC and then upgrade later. For Live Prep classes, you can attend the free sessions before making a decision.
I took gmat in Nov14 and scored a measly 660 with a score of 31 in verbal section and this was despite covering the SC and CR books of Manhattan. I realized that I knew most of the grammar rules but I lacked in their application, I did not have an appropriate strategy to handle different types of questions. With the aim to improve the strategy part I was looking for an online source that can help me work on my deficiencies. It was at this juncture I came across egmat, I watched some of the free videos that were available and really liked them, I was particularly impressed with the emphasis given to the areas in which non native speakers generally lack and hence I decided to enroll for the course. The course content was comprehensive covering not only most advanced and challenging topics but also providing a solid foundation in basics. Videos covered each topic in detail and practice tests helped in reinforcing the concepts learned. Overall, I found the course to be extremely beneficial as it helped me work on weaknesses and reinforce areas of strength.
