Verified GMAT Classic score:
750 Q50 V41 (Online)
I would like to start by thanking Scott and TTP team in helping me get a 750 in GMAT!
I started prepping again for my GMAT in mid of June 2021. I had just about a month to prep for the exam and my mock test results were stuck at 680-690 (MGMAT and E-Gmat). I was consistently working through over 150 questions every day but even after 10 days my scores did not improve. I realised that I needed to use some GMAT course material to help me. I spent about 1 week exploring Target Test Prep's trial course and also tried courses with 2 other companies. I just loved the TTP's quant and SC coursework so I purchased their Flexible study plan for just $99.
What stood out among other test prep companies was the easy to read, thorough and neatly organised text explanations of each and every concept you would need with examples (with solutions) within every topic. I preferred this over other companies course because for me, this was much better and faster compared to going over hundreds of videos and animations in other courses (which is just extremely time consuming). I could just skim over the most basic concepts and focus my attention on more important topics. The flexible nature of this course just helped me immensely in going over the necessary concepts at a brisk pace (given my time constraint).
The other things I loved about the quant course specifically was the custom tests and chapter-wise tests, and practice questions. They have a big question bank with questions clearly separated into chapters and difficulty level. This helped me a lot in pin-pointing my week areas E.g. I was always of the view that Probability was my weakest area but as it turned out it was number properties. :)
The only drawback with the course is that they still don't have a CR specific coursework but I believe CR can be improved with just practice of questions on the GMATCLUB.
I would highly recommend TTP's course for anyone who is constraint by time like me.
I would also like to thank the GMATCLUB team and community for the vast, never ending question bank. The practice of these questions on the GMATCLUB helped me be more confident on the test day. The timer feature really helped me improve my speed in solving the RC questions.
I am excited to say that my GMAT journey has come to an end with a score of 760 (Q47, V49). There were times that I didn't think it would be possible, times that I seriously considered quitting, but I finally beat the GMAT. And you can too.
My success would not have been possible without Target Test Prep (TTP) and all of their incredible resources. I'd tried various other online courses before I came across TTP, and I can guarantee that there is no other study program as good as TTP. My greatest weakness was the quant section and this is where the TTP quant study program came in exceptionally handy. TTP's diagnostic test is highly accurate and the step-by-step study program that they offer makes learning each quant topic seem manageable, even enjoyable. Before moving to TTP, I had thought of the quant section as one "whole unit" that I needed to crack, and I hadn't even considered breaking up the quant section into the various subtopics that it tests. TTP did exactly this for me and it allowed me to see which quant areas I needed to focus on more than others (eg: my geometry was strong, but my number properties and foundations were weak). TTP's study program gives amazing tips and tricks for tackling quant questions, and by the end of the course, I felt like I could do many of the GMAT quant questions on autopilot, which proved so helpful for the real, more nerve-wracking exam environment.
I didn't use TTP's verbal program as I already felt quite confident in that section (I had been consistently scoring V49 in practice tests), but I have heard wonderful things about their verbal course and would have absolutely moved onto it if the verbal section hadn't gone to plan in my GMAT exam. Overall, TTP took me from scoring 680/690 (and feeling like I would never crack the GMAT) to 760, and I'm so grateful to have found this amazing online course. I couldn't recommend it enough - thank you Scott and the rest of the team at TTP!
I also want to say a little shout-out to the community at GMAT Club. Their testimonies gave me hope and the determination needed to believe that I could beat the GMAT. If you're reading this and despairing about the GMAT exam, please know that you too can beat it!
After months of studying both the Kaplan and Manhattan self paced courses I felt ready for the GMAT, but on test day I lost track of my pacing and whiffed on some easy questions, only scoring a 660. I felt distraught and wasn't sure if I was even going to try again. After reading about so many successful test takers using TTP I decided to give it a try.
The first thing that I noticed was how exhaustive the content was. Every single possible problem you may encounter is covered and their self paced learning allows you the ability to take it at your own pace but keeps you on track by reminding you about best practices. The chapter quizzes are broken into 15 question sections so they feel light, but in actuality you are doing half a quant section! By the end of my studying I was nailing the official guide practice tests like I never had before. Taking the GMAT became second nature and when I was in the testing center it felt that way. I thought my initial failure was because of nerves, but those nerves arose because I didn't have all the help I needed. TTP gives you that help and if you take advantage of the material, your hard work will pay off.
After trying other top providers, I switched to Target Test Prep after hearing others' success stories on Reddit. The TTP platform is top of the line, the content is intuitive and incredibly well-structured and the TTP team is heavily involved in customer success. Any time I had specific questions I could reach out directly to Marty, Jeff or Scott and get a helpful response quickly. The Quant product is second to none and completely standalone. The verbal offering is also extremely thorough and was instrumental in my success on the verbal portion. I would recommend TTP to anyone taking the GMAT.
I took a dry mock in December of 2020 to see where i stand (I had in mind a goal score of 700 to be competitive at target schools). 32Q 33V for a 550 showed up on my screen. I thought I had a long road ahead of me for Q, not only did I not even know where to start on some questions, but on the ones I did know how to do I would easily fall for the trap answers.
I did some research over the next month, and it seemed like the consensus was that TTP was the gold standard of quant courses. After completing the 6 month maximum learning package, I wholeheartedly agree with the consensus.
TTP is not some magic course that will give you a cheat code or gimmicks that will give you the "most of the time this will work type" of strategies. TTP literally lays out every single question type that is possible, and then drills the learning and solution into your brain over and over and over again. It is not rocket science, this is the most comprehensive course and will require you to stay very disciplined. It is not a course where you can take short cuts and expect to get a great score. TTP sets you up for success, and if you have the self control and patience to make it through the entire structured program, you will hit your target score.
Test day came around and I improved my Q to a 48 and V to a 38. This is after 5 months of intense and regimented studying using the TTP structure while also balancing a full time job. I cannot stress enough that if you are disciplined, TTP lays out every single scenario possible in easily consumable fashion. A+ rating from me and I would not have hit my target score if it was not for TTP.
Hi all,
Just wanted to share my review of TTP for my GMAT studies. Prior to starting TTP in late December, I had tried self study for about two months. I then took a practice test and performed miserably. I realized that after being out of school for 10 years I needed focused practice.
I checked out a bunch of courses and decided to give TTP a try. Signed up first for their 1 week program and fell in love with the teaching style. My math was horrible (and I mean I didn't know how to divide fractions horrible) and they did a fantastic job teaching me the basics once again.
Their verbal course is also great, although I think its much more intuitive for native english speakers than non-native speakers. I received it free as its in beta, but honestly it feels like a complete course for free.
After 5 months I took my first test and scored a 700 Q47, V39. I really wanted to hit the Q49, V40+ barrier so I took another three weeks, reached out to TTP's Jeff who shared a personalized program, and rewrote the test to score a 720 Q48, V41. I honestly probably could have scored higher but decided to move forward with this score given I have a bit of a non-traditional profile/URM.
In summary, TTP was a lifesaver and I owe a large part of my success to their courses. Thank you guys!
TTP was absolutely vital in scoring a 720 on the GMAT. I could not have improved my quant score so much without Target Test Prep. Scott and his team are also available for any questions you might have and to offer support when you need it, they genuinely care about you doing well on the GMAT. I ended up using their verbal lessons as well and they structure each lesson is the way that is going to push you to get that higher score. They also have lessons for IR and the AWA and I found their AWA structure to be a really great resource for planning your essay. Couldn't recommend them enough.
Shweta helped me a lot to understand what my week points were and how should I go about improving the same. Shweta was always super supportive on both academic and emotional quotient
Her verbal diagnosis was on point and really helped me narrow down on what was important for me. The course content was relevant and gave great mental models to solve with. The content was up to date and the type of questions covered were exhaustive.
Some pointers on the course overall:
SC is very detailed and special at egmat; Concepts were precise and you are just required to apply them to the real GMAT questions (nothing more nothing less)
I had previously used other resources and coaching notes but the difference with egmat was that they only focus on what is actually asked in the exam and not random concepts. This helped reduce a lot of stress for me and kept my game plan simple; High focus on a meaning-based approach was unique and honestly the most important skill in solving hard questions
RC course is also pretty exhaustive and structured, practise questions are brilliantly designed and actually super engaging; The nuanced paragraph reading techniques are novel but very effective.
CR is also very well designed for everyone, the pre-thinking approach was a game-changer for me; The hard level questions on the platform were very close to what I saw in the exam - this was super helpful for my test readiness.
Loved the quant curriculum as well; The hard questions are really stimulating and thought-provoking. The solutions provided were detailed and really helpful for my conceptual growth
The 24/7 forum support was beautiful and actually saved me a lot of time; The overall question bank is the closest you can get to real GMAT experience
The sigma mocks were great and scholaranium was an amazing tool to track and monitor progress. I would recommend this course to everyone and special thanks to Shweta for his support.
I highly highly recommend egmat and specially Shweta for anyone looking to score 700+ on GMAT
I started with the GMAT Preparation way back in 2016, when I enrolled myself for an in-class GMAT preparation course. The course was for about 2 months, and I spent another 4 months trying to figure my way to at least a 700 in the official mba.com mocks. After about 6 months of preparation, I was confident about Quant (I anyway have an engineering background, so Quant wasn’t an issue) and SC. With absolutely no approach, I faltered majorly on CR; I wasn’t clear on the reason to eliminate the incorrect answer choices, and even after looking through the solution, I got really confused between the answer choices. I anyway booked a test date because I thought my Quant, SC and to some extent the RC section will get me at least a 700. On the test, I took really long to answer the SC question, so I had to leave 1 RC passage completely, and as expected faltered on the CR section; hence, scoring a 660 (Q49, V35).
Fast forward to May 2020, when I decided to retake the GMAT. I took the e-GMAT course, and spent considerable amount of time to understand the concepts and learn the strategies that could be applied to each question in Verbal or Quant. I was surprised and relieved to know that there is a platform that has decoded the strategies for how to approach each question in the Verbal section, especially the CR questions. e-GMAT gave me the concepts and strategies that built in me the confidence to get the approached questions right.
e-GMAT strategies
- The SC course is extremely well structured and details out all the grammatical concepts that one would require to get a GMAT SC question right. The meaning based approach emphasised by e-GMAT makes it easier to solve the harder level questions.
- e-GMAT helped me tackle the section that I absolutely hated –CR. The concept files gave me a well- structured approach to solve any CR question that comes my way. This approach helped me score a 98th percentile on my GMAT exam. The course provided me with a process to break down the argument into premise and conclusion, to create a falsification scenario, to pre-think, and to correctly analyse answer choices. I was better able to comprehend the information and analyse how each particular answer choice affected the argument.
- The reading strategies taught as part of the RC and MC concept files helped a lot to improve my ability to comprehend the passage and arrive at the correct answer choice
- Quant course gives all the concepts required for the test. E-GMAT’s quant questions are a little harder that the official GMAT questions, preparing you for the 700+ level questions on the exam. The solutions are very detailed and easy to follow. Because of the hard level questions that I practiced on the e-GMAT, I was extremely confident when I approached the quant section in my exam and was able to manage time well, with 5 minutes to spare at the end of the section
Mentorship by DJ
After I restarted my GMAT prep, I needed someone to guide me through the process and suggest me how best to plan my study schedule given a hectic job. I had already read a lot of positive reviews about how he helped students get to their targeted GMAT score, and so I was elated when I got to know that DJ was assigned to me as a mentor. He was a constant support and motivated me throughout the process. He analysed my Sigma-X mock test and highlighted how I could improve on my weak areas in both the Verbal and the Quant section. DJ provided me with a structured approach and weekly plans that included reviewing certain concept files, giving cementing quizzes, and creating custom quizzes to be solved within a time less than the standard time (This helped incredibly with managing my time on the test). He also shared the section wise error log, which is worth all the efforts it takes to fill it. The error logs give you an indication of the repeated errors one makes and suggests a corresponding corrective action, ensuring that you do not repeat your mistakes.
Skill Data on the e-GMAT Platform – The best way for you to analyse your performance
I first bought the e-GMAT course in May 2020, and again in March 2021, and I was surprised by the updates to the platform. Scholaranium 2.0 provided all the possible data points that one would need to analyse the areas of improvements. The skill data provided distribution by difficulty levels, time, concepts, median time, etc and this was incredibly helpful because then I could focus specifically on topics that needed improvement.
Takeaways:
- It all comes down to applying what you have learnt. I have seen myself getting a fairly easy question wrong because I failed to apply the strategies suggested by e-GMAT in its course. On the other hand, I could easily solve extremely complex and hard to understand arguments, by using the step-by-step strategies.
- I started with the GMAT prep again in May 2020, completed the course by August 2020, but then my GMAT Prep was on-and-off for about 6 months because I switched jobs and wanted to concentrate my efforts entirely on the new projects. This was a HUGE mistake. In January 2021, when I decided to get back with the Preparation, I had to start all over again. Hence, taking breaks between your preparations is a very bad idea and you will just end up exhausting yourself. It will double the overall time and effort required for you to reach your targeted score, so one should be consistent with his/her preparation.
e-GMAT is the best source for your GMAT Preparation and I would highly recommend it. I have already recommended e-GMAT to everyone who has spoken to me personally about the GMAT exam, and I hope this review helps you make a decision about the GMAT program that will get you to your targeted score.

I took my first practice test and scored a 640. Based on my undergraduate gpa, I knew I needed to raise this by at least 100 points to be in the running for my target schools. I was referred to GMAT Ninja from one of my good friends, and I began working with Dana just a few weeks later.
Right from the start, Dana and I met weekly to review scheduled homework and test preparation. I asked every question that came to mind, and she helped me formulate a critical process to succeed in the different types of problems and sections on the GMAT. I was amazed at the level of detail in the program ... even to the point of a breathing process if I felt stressed during the test.
Just a few months later, I exceeded my target score with a 760!! I could not have met my goals without Dana and the GMAT Ninja program to give me the confidence and skills to score my best.
