The e-gmat sentence correction course is really good. It helps you a lot. The course is designed in a way that guides you step by step till you become a pro. It is a must for everyone who is struggling in sentence correction problems. The videos are short and crisp. The videos won't overload you with stuff, you need not know. I would recommend this course to everyone. It surely is the best available course in the market. It helped me to improve my score. My score increased 80 points after subscribing the e-gmat sentence correction course. Great work by e-gmat team.
I am a non native speaker and had give my GMAT more than a year ago. So when i first started i was only getting used to the GMAT verbal sections. During my first try i got a V28 and i felt that i could improve my sentence correction if i change my understanding of the section.
After hearing a lot of positive reviews i opted for the e-gmat course and in that the sentence correction course helped clear my doubts in S-V agreement and many areas where improvement was needed. Now my sentence correction accuracy has improved to 90%. Thank you e-gmat for a well structured SC online course.
I started my GMAT prep, as many people do, with no clue on how to fix sentences or how to read passages properly. After only a few weeks of study I was able to improve my score by over a 100 points. Just to put things into perspective, I was scoring in 400s and 500s in the couple of months of my study. I went through other courses tutorials, although they were helpful in Quant the verbal sections were no match for the E-Gmat's verbal section. I wish I had started my study with E-Gmat since i wasted a lot of money on other courses and books that didn't teach me much. My only regret right now is that I wish I had used E-Gmat quant as well because their course is just excellent. I have read many of Payal's posts on verbal and quant topics and the posts are amazing, filled with tidbits of knowledge.
I highly recommend this course to students who are looking to improve their verbal and quant skills. Especially if you are a non-native speaker then don't waste any time looking at other courses. I improved from V20 (my initial mock) to V38 in a quick few months of study. After only about 4-6 weeks of study, I never scored below V35 in any of my mocks.
SC was my weakest section, I had absolutely no clue on how to begin correcting a sentence. I went though the first module which taught me what a clause is, what a phrase is and what role conjunctions play in a sentence. What is a run-on sentence and how to spot structural issues in 5 seconds. Then from there, i was able to learn step by step how to spot SV errors, Parallelism errors, Modifier errors, comparison errors and few remaining minor SC topics.
I am now getting 85%-90% of SC questions correct and am very confident in my ability. So I want to thank e-Gmat for their amazing course. Thank you Rajat, Payal and other members of E-GMAT for everything.
I had given my first attempt of GMAT late last year and had scored a 650(V40 , Q40)
When i started out prepping for GMAT my verbal score was at about V31. I then signed up for E-gmat and it was the only source i reffered to for working on the verbal skills.
The Section wise video tutorials are very well structured to help non native speakers especially.
I had thoroughly gone through those and then would practice diligently on the scholaranium everyday.
Noting errors in the scholaranium and then going back to video concepts whereever you notice a gap in concept i think is a good way to keep going and improving.
You also have features to bookmark and marked as guessed for questions that helps you come back to them.
the scholaranium gives you an complete analysis with breaking down topic wise weak areas for you to then work over.
I think overall the e-gmat is a great course to help with the Verbal section of GMAT.
After stupidly wasting my time by trying to use/learn from various resources for verbal, I knew that I needed a change. My main weakness was SC section so I needed a really high-quality resource that would prepare me well. I switched my focus and decided to focus on one resource per part at maximum. After a lot of researching and reading I decided to go for e-GMAT with my SC prep. I read a lot of positive reviews about e-GMAT and hoped that they could deliver.
It was a great decision, which improved my Verbal score significantly. I can only praise and recommend e-GMAT for the Verbal preparation part of the GMAT. You won't regret it!
I would definitely not recommend this course to anyone. There is no way to clear your doubts and the videos are intuitive. I had so many doubts after going though the videos and there was no one to clear those. I did not see any improvement in my score. I got an additional one month online access for free but that was of no use. The support from the course tutor and the customer service was negligible and when I took the course I was assured of many services which later on I did not receive at all. Please do not take this course if you do not want to waste your money.
I felt that the Magoosh customer service associates were helpful whenever I had a question. Although sometimes the responses to my questions were limited. The content is somewhat limited compared to the other services available, however Magoosh is much less expensive. I would suggest using Magoosh with supplemental materials from other sources, I think it would be difficult to only use Magoosh. I was a disappointed that the tools available had technical issues often. This was especially frustrating when I was crunched in my studying and having problems with study materials. They updated the app while I used the materials and it was much better.
E-gmat is the best verbal course for non-natives. The content makers have done a great job in simplifying the verbal section and have actually made it interesting. Before starting my GMAT preparation (at the cost of sounding boastful), I thought I had strong verbal skills so I should be OK in this section. However this was proven wrong immediately when I took my first test. Shattered with my score, I decided to sign-up for e-gmat after reading all the reviews and my score started increasing pretty much after the first few SC videos. Their scholaranium is also a great tool to test your level periodically and make tweaks in your preparation as needed.
Took Avi Gutman's class - great teacher and very engaging. You have to be fully involved in the classroom discussion to make the most of the course, but if you do so, your score will definitely improve.
MGMAT's quant strategy guides are super helpful; in my opinion, the Number Properties guide really is the best of them all. Put simply, I would not have obtained my quant score of 50 without this guide. The GMAT is all about thinking logically and using quick tricks wherever possible - MGMAT's Number Properties guide really knocks it out of the park in this regard.
The verbal strategy guides are also very useful; I have found the CR strategy guide to best most effective in raising my verbal score. While I am no expert at CR, MGMAT's CR guide lays out an extremely effective framework for approaching each CR question type. It took a lot of practice to get used to this framework, but the extra boost to my verbal score (42) was worth all the trouble.
MGMAT also helped me tremendously with my timing issues, a very important part of this test.
Advice for prospective students: Take your MGMAT CAT scores with a grain of salt. I will note that the MGMAT quant section is much tougher than that in the actual exam (this is why I am giving Quant 4 stars). While over-preparation is obviously better than under-preparation, MGMAT runs the risk of demoralizing students into not taking the test. I recommend MGMAT re-calibrate the difficulty level of its CAT quant questions.
Thank you MGMAT for getting me to my dream score!
I bought the verbal online course, which is the forte of Egmat. Nicely structured course. You just have to follow the course. Everything will be take care of.However, You should be knowing at least basic things. Then only you can apply the logic better. The question bank is highly rich in content.Basically, it is the perfect course I have come across.
Initially, I was struggling with the sentence correction badly. I had heard a lot about egmat but i was trying to gather all the concepts without buying the course. But in the end, I got encircled by a lot of doubts, following a lot of sources. In the end I just got the courage to pay approx 13000 for the course. I just followed the course step by step, read the solution religiously, and applied it better. On 4th Jan I booked for the exam and got 700(V50,Q34).Result is good, but not up to my expectation. I will apply again and try to get close to 740.But no doubt the course is worth recommending, at least for NON natives.
IndianGMATGirl - we are known for our customer service and respond within 1 business day. Also, we have multiple ways to get your doubts cleared. Just one question - why did you ask for 1 month extension if you did not find the course any useful.
