I wrote my GMAT in December '16 (720- V38, Q50). Being a math enthusiast, I was confident in handling the Quantitative section- I also had good scores in the mock tests. However, my verbal score in the mocks couldn’t cross 32. I was aiming a 700+ score and that’s when I came across e-gmat through the GMATClub reviews.
I was initially hesitant in taking up an online course, but once I experienced their free trial I was convinced e-gmat was the right path ahead. If there are two things I’d say helped me immensely, they would be the practice I had everyday (I spent 2 hours daily) and the focus I had on finding my weaknesses (Scholaranium is a great tool for this, I’d totally go with what the positive reviews say). The video-based learning was effective in terms of retaining concepts and correlating them while solving problems.
Thank you e-GMAT for helping me score well in the VA section, and improve my reading skills as a whole. I whole heartedly recommend this to any non-native speaker who wants to ace the GMAT.
All the best to you all !!

Being a non-native, preparation in verbal course was necessary and need of the hour. My friend introduced me to e-GMAT and I cannot thank him enough for having done that. The videos provided by e-GMAT are full of adequate content and provide good practice questions. This course has helped me brush up my concepts very well.
The RC videos were really helpful as well. e-GMAT provides you a number of key strategies that you must keep in mind while reading through RCs. The best thing in e-GMAT is the scholaranium. it provides practice with previous GMAT test questions and thoroughly prepared questions that test understanding of concepts on the line of GMAT. scholaranium comes with practice and quiz options to practice questions and prepare for test conditions with timed quizzes.
Thank you e-GMAT once again and thanks to all those who read my review till the very end. I hope I was able to motivate a few of you out there like me, who may have totally given up on RC.
All the best to you all !!

I have used the verbal live prep extensively to increase my verbal score. I used to consistently get V 27-30 and after using verbal live prep my score jumped by 10 points
The video lessons explain the basics of each concept and once you master the basic concepts, solving the hard questions becomes easy.
The video lessons are another amazing feature. The video lessons explain in detail the strategy to be used for each question type in verbal and paves a path to be followed. Mastering the basic concepts and attending the verbal live prep classes/recordings will ensure that you follow a defined and tested strategy for each question type.
I cant thank E-gmat enough for creating this awesome tool
The e-GMAT's verbal scholaranium course really helped me better my verbal score. I must admit that I didn't spend a lot of time the first time around to review all the verbal material, but I saw a huge improvement in my Sentence Correction score, and ended up getting about 80% correct on the final test. I repurchased the course for my second attempt and I already see a 20 point improvement from working through the CR and RC scholaranium questions, and hope to continue to use that to reach my target score. Would highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve their verbal scores (especially if you're a non-native speaker that struggles with breaking down complex sentences and passages)!
I used Magoosh only for quant and mostly at the beginning of my study. Magoosh is all about understanding fundamentals. The videos go into great length explaining the logic behind each formula, insisting that we shouldn't just memorize the rules but truly understand how they come about and how to tweak them for different types of questions. Each lesson group is followed by a set of exercises comprising of mostly easy and medium difficulty questions. The videos can take awhile to go through but they are definitely worth it as our understanding of the fundamentals are key to tackling more difficult problems. I start out with Magoosh then come to gmatclub to learn about short cuts and do 700+ level questions. I owe my 760 to Magoosh and therefore highly recommend Magoosh if you are willing to invest time to really learn the material.
Magoosh was incredibly helpful for me in my attempt to obtain a top GMAT score. I took the test 5 years ago, and scored a 620. Granted, I went in with no knowledge of the exam (didn’t know there was a quant and verbal section). I started using Magoosh because it seemed like a good product for a significantly lower price than the other tools offering similar score increases. I started using their 6 month beginners study plan, but things were going so well, that I decided to take a practice test to see where I stood. I realized that I was ready for the test, so I signed up and continued to use Magoosh every day to stay ready until test day. The videos and practice problems are awesome!
Although I've not yet taken the GMAT this course was helpful in breaking the v30 barrier in my prep. The course material is detailed at the same time very easy to understand. Moreover the scholaranium tests help you gauge the current improvement. From the average v24 on tests this has helped me shoot the verbal score to v34.
My target score is around v44-v45 with still the RC and SC courses pending & I highly recommend this product for Non natives so that they can easily work on their foundations rather than just beating around the bush with few tips and tricks provided by other prep companies. The course starts with building your basics of grammar -> transitions to SC -> CR -> RC in a systematic approach. You can try out their sample vids to check if the approach is useful or not and then decide.
As a non-native English speaker (and writer as you will see) I needed a course that thought me the foundations, the tricks and the strategy. Now I can say that e-gmat has been extreamly usefull learning tool of those 3 aspects.
- The foundations of SC, Cr and RC are very well covered in their concept files that start from the basic through advanced material
- The verbal live sessions really worth it. The sessions are very well prepared and designed to go deep into core aspects such as pre-thinking or the 3 process step for SC questions
- The strategy sessions tough you how to improve your score and gives you understanding on key things to keep in mind, like takt time
- Scholarium is a great tool for practice your weak areas and keep track of your performance
I signed up for the e-GMAT after reviewing them, Magoosh, and one or two other services. I needed help improving my score from a V38 so I can surpass my 700 in order to get closer to a 750. I already had a Q48/49/50 on practice and previous official exams, so I knew Verbal was where I needed to improve. I went from a V38 to a V41 by doing e-GMAT's Verbal section. Extremely thorough and helpful, with proper explanations, prompt assistance when needed, and practice questions with thorough explanations. They covered the most minute things that other programs I used did not cover. They really went down to showing you the how/why of each type of Verbal question type, grammar rule, etc. so if you truly want to break down and learn Verbal section, definitely do e-GMAT. For the price, it was totally worth it. Would highly recommend.
I decided to use Magoosh GMAT Premium since it is the most affordable course among other brands. I bought it with discount and paid only 60$. Magoosh provide application on smart phone which is really easy to use. I can study anytime when the wifi is available. I wish if Magoosh provide function to watch the videos offline, it will be much better.
For Quantitative section, Magoosh provides lots of great lesson videos which taught me many useful concepts and tips. The exercise in this section is adaptive and some of them are harder than the real ones.
For verbal section, Magoosh provide only fundamental concept videos. I think those videos are not really helpful except SC section. I am not a native speaker, so I think I need to build strong foundation in verbal. There are many exam in this section and I cannot complete all of them. Some are really difficult for me and they are not even similar to the real ones. In my opinion, Magoosh should update the lessons and exams since I don't think the video lessons help me to win the verbal.
Finally, since I work full time, I don't really have much time to study. I still cannot complete some of Magoosh exam. If I had more time, I think Magoosh would significantly help me. Thus, I recommend this courses if you need to improve Q scores. Magoosh really help me with Q section. I improve from Q 44 to Q 48. However, my V score become worse.
