Honestly speaking, I have taken GMAT a few times, but have never scored what I desired. Throughout the process of preparing for exam and appearing for it, I found that some where my basics were weak or not clear.
I had signed up for classroom courses too, but due to constant travelling, I could not continue them on regular basis. So I was down to Preparing my self.
e-GMAT's course came as rescue for me. Besides the convenience of studying at convenient time, whether it is mid night or early morning, what I like more is the way concepts are taught. Unless the base is strong, you can not deal with the hard questions. Clear concept come in play specially in DS. I was very weak in DS and I was not able to figure out why. DS is tricky, if your concept is clear, you can solve it by not actually solving it completely and there by save some time. Going through the concepts and practising the sample questions during the course, and with further practice, I'm able to hit 90% plus accuracy. Which is great. I have been a mediocre student and these positive results have inspired me to put more efforts.
I registered for e-GMAT complete course in Oct,14 after completing my first GMAT attempt and failing miserably with a score of 540(Q41,V23). I stumbled upon e-GMAT though GMAT club forums and decided to join. The course was worth the money I spent on it. I was not sure whether I would improve when I started but the course was designed so well that I could easily grasp the techniques and apply them. Initially it takes time to apply the concepts for every question since it is time consuming but when you practice a lot of questions together with the OG guide questions which e-GMAT recommends, applying the principles becomes an integral part while you solve the questions. The workshops are strikingly useful to judge yourself and to improve your weak areas. Moreover there are sufficient questions neatly subdivided into groups to help practice efficiently. When you follow the course step by step regularly you will see an automatic score improvement which is unbelievable. My quant score has improved in the mock tests to Q50 and my verbal score to V32.
My GMAT exam is just a few weeks away and I am quite confident that I will score well and will write a success story .
Positives -
1. Video explanations for each and every concept really helps to understand the concept in detail.
2. Great content - besides the subject related videos, the strategy videos in relevant sections are literally the game changer.
3. Practice questions - powered by some great practice questions.
4. Dashboard provides great insight of your preparation.
5. Another great feature is the timer for each question, that compares your average time with the general average. So you get to know, how much one needs to improve.
Not so positive -
1. Probably, there could be more than one full length practice.
By 5-6 practice tests the entire package will become at par (if not better) than the best in the business.
I've heard about magoosh on this forum and at the beginning I was a bit diffident because of the so little price, but I have only two month to prepare and it seems to me the quickest online course.
Now that I've tried magoosh and I've done the GMAT I have to say that it has been a very powerful tool in my preparation.
The best part is the quantitative one very detailed and well explained with a clear voice.
Also verbal part is good but maybe designed for native speaker.
The only negative thing to underline are the CATs that in my opinion are not very similar to the official ones.
Thus I really suggest this course to people who have little time and don't want to spend much money.
Hi Guys,
I heard lot of good reviews about the course so I took this course.
I have started doing this E- Gmat verbal course, though I have not taken the full course till now but whatever I have done. I feel confident about the course. The way video and exercise are made, they are self explanatory ( Easy to understand) . It also covers all the topic. Yes this course is definitely good for non native speakers
I hope, I will improve on my verbal part after this course. Will definitely write my full review once everything is done. Keeping my finger crossed.
Thanks and regards
Hello Members,
I would like to provide my review on e-gmat Verbal Live Prep. I see this is the best prep available, helping strengthen your concepts, apply your learned skills, and strategize in an effective approach. When i first studied from other sources on Verbal,I, as a non-native, was not able to gather complete ideas. Although MGMAT SC was helpful,i still missed the best strategies required to solve SC within the required time. I learned these techniques from Verbal Prep course. You will apply your skills in solving the problems and analyze or evaluate your correct or wrong choices. The importance of proper brainstorming in a CR question is paramount and I learned the technique of brainstorm in a CR question from the course. This really improved my accuracy in CR section. The Live course also helps you come prepared to a live class joined by smart, dedicated gmat applicants.
All i can say here is this is a great course for those who believe that they can certainly do better in Verbal section if guided by proper, required concepts and efficient techniques solving the problems.
I really appreciated the verbal online course. The explanation and videos are very good for non native speaker like me. The practices and tips are very handy for my prep tests.
The Sentence correction helped me to strengthen my basic knowlegde for all the areas.
The prethinking technique for Critical Reasoning is the best tips to shot the CR questions.
I recommand it for non native with little background of English and GMAT.
If you follow the courses topics very tigthly you may come out with good score at GMAT test.
Thanks to eGMAT team for this powerful online courses designed for busy people like me.

I started preparing for the Gmat a few months back. Time is a big constraint for me. With a full-time job and with a kid at home finding time to study was/is tough. I found that the best way for me to study was studying/reviewing in short bursts of time.
Magoosh was recommended to me by my colleague who recently gave his exam and was really happy with his 7XX score.
I started with the trial version and then was really impressed with the way the material is presented and allows you to gain somethings in a short duration. I could get some videos done at work and then some during lunch time at work.
I am really impressed with their Quant material. The way it is presented and some of the tricks they have really help on saving time. 5 + stars for Quant.
For the Verbal , I would say their material is a bit light. It does a good overview of all the grammar basics and some other stuff but for SC and CR I would still recommend reading the MGMAT books.
Overall Magoosh is totally worth it. It has so many practice questions. You can configure your practice in number of ways. Do only hard ones , hard ones from a topic that you find tough etc etc.
The course is helping me a lot in preparing and getting me ready for the exam. Without it and all the time constraints , I think I would be lost.
Now time to schedule the exam and nail that beast :)
For me eGMAT gave a hope that I can improve my verbal. I did not understand why I was not able to improve my verbal, but after going through the eGMAT 3 step process, my accuracy in SC improved a lot. Also the pre-thinking in CR improved my accuracy in CR from 60 to 80%. From my point of view, it is more important to learn the core skills than focusing on practice. This is what is exactly taught in eGMAT. I am planning to take Quant live prep as well since they offer guarantee on GMAT score. I am looking forward for my real GMAT test and I am sure eGMAT gives me a chance to reach my target score.
Magoosh is an excellent resource. I am yet to take the exam (April 24th), but I can already see a marked improvement in the way I tackle math and verbal questions. This is an amazing product especially for the price- I read a few reviews on GMAT Club, and was not sure whether these reviews were even real! Everyone seemed to have loved Magoosh, and I was obviously skeptical given its below market price. However, I have been following the course as closely as possible, and I think its one of best tools you need for the GMAT.
I do think the verbal section is not representative of the actual GMAT questions. Some questions seem very easy, but Magoosh categorizes them as "Hard". I guess Ill know where I stand when I take the actual test, but I would recommend Magoosh to anyone who needs a study plan, and some discipline while studying for the GMAT.
