I feel that their philosophy of being prudently priced has been fulfilled in their execution. They offer useful content. Mike (One of the main Guides) is amazing. Mark my words. The Math section videos are a must watch. view some of them 3 times. and the high level math should be reviewed before the test ass it has some excellent 'Big Ideas" which got me through some high level quant problems in seconds as I knew information that took the fun out of the question. The verbal is good I would watch the videos twice. However I had gone through Powerscore Cr bile so critical reasoning was set. In case of sentence correction I suggest use Magoosh don't waste time on an ebook like MAnhatan prep unless ur taking it slow. Magoosh has it all for SC and supplement Magoosh SC with challenging questions and resources of leading companies such as veritas which offers free tests. RC I did not study too much as I am an avid reader. Overall Math Videos are a must and the quality of questions for practice is amazing- They have a smalller number of questions - around 800 and 2 practice tests. The questions are designed to test some trick or logical concept application so that no question is useless. I think if you Review your prep with Magoosh you will find it tested properly. I gave both practice tests and 1 MG prep , 1 GMAT prep. The videos on essay (AWA) are good and other than OG I think Magooah is a very calm and competent guru. And worth the money (120 - discounts) and access to gmatclub tests and quizzes. I think do OG study from Magoosh and review With it.
It seemed better than Math revolution and I had recommendations for magoosh.
I am an Italian student from a very low ranked university in Italy. I decided to apply for a MSc in a top 50 Business School, since I finished my bachelor in March. To do so, I really needed the GMAT score, since none of these Business Schools would have realistically considered an application from my university. I bought the official guides on my own, tried so hard but it did not work, I got a 500 at my first attempt. I knew I needed much more than that (my goal was to get at least 600, which is sufficient for a top 50 BS, not for a top 10 of course but that's not my goal right now). I took a month off to relax, and I started looking at some online courses, since I had the feeling that the OG did not give me what I needed. I decided to buy Magoosh Premium because of the excellent reviews and the extremely convenient price. I studied for a month while I was involved in an english course in Cambridge, did all the Maths and Verbal lessons, tried 3 practice exams (2 from the GMATprep software and 1 from Magoosh) and I got scores around 550. I decided to book a test anyway, because I was running out of time. I went to the test and got a 620 Q47. Magoosh is a very good website overall, the Math lessons and exercises are extremely good and help you to recognize different patterns. I liked the Verbal part too, but honestly I think they could be improved, since sometime they shorten the topics a bit too much.
Anyway, I got what I needed with Magoosh and with some luck.
I subscribed to Magoosh Gmat complete course, and it was invaluable in my gmat preparation. The great thing was that Magoosh has a GMAT app which you can download and study on the go in your smart phone or a ipad—recently they have upgraded the app so that you can access practice questions from the app too!
For Quant section, Magoosh is great. They have done a great deal to start each and every concept from the basic to the most advanced ones. GMAT quant is beatable combined with Manhattan Quant strategy guides vis-à-vis Magoosh Quant online lessons.
For Verbal section, Magoosh explains each and every verbal topics in details. Their approach from fundamental to most advanced concepts Is awesome.
Overall, Manhattan strategy guides vis-à-vis Magoosh online course is a perfect match. I personally felt that studying from Manhattan books only was boring, and Magoosh online videos were phenomenal to study gmat in a recreational way!
I took the GMAT in May '16 having studied only using the OG and some materials from GMAT Club. I have always been a good test taker and thought that would be sufficient. While I scored well with a 680, top b-schools were in my crosshairs, so I knew I needed to be better. Despite being an engineer, I excelled in the verbal section and struggled with quant.
The Magoosh premium subscription was fantastic. In addition to the actual learning materials, their blogs and other information are top notch. I followed the three month study schedule, focusing on quant. With daily practice I began to see improvement. The video instruction was structured well and the pace was perfect. I ended up taking longer than three months to finish, and was actually quite frustrated by the end. I felt as though I had plateaued and problem sets seemed increasingly difficult.
When I sat down to take the GMAT the second time around it felt like a breeze! Both the quant and verbal sections on the actual test were much easier than those in Magoosh. By the end of the test I was very nervous that I had done poorly, thinking I must have been relegated to easier questions. Those fears vanished when I saw the 720 flash on the screen. My quant scored earned a five point gain, and even my verbal score went up. I couldn't have done it without Magoosh. I highly recommend it!
I have joined Magoosh Premium Recently.
These people are helping alot. They have helped me in generating the plans that I could follow. The most important thing is they are answering all your questions within a day and that too very precisely.
The video tutorial/flashcards allow the flexibility of doing it whenever you are free.
Everyone I have interacted with is the Best you can get from them.
I would recommend Magoosh for those who have ended up with a score greater than 650 and wanna get to their dream score. They have also offered Score Guarantee. I am hoping the best out of them.
I felt that the Magoosh customer service associates were helpful whenever I had a question. Although sometimes the responses to my questions were limited. The content is somewhat limited compared to the other services available, however Magoosh is much less expensive. I would suggest using Magoosh with supplemental materials from other sources, I think it would be difficult to only use Magoosh. I was a disappointed that the tools available had technical issues often. This was especially frustrating when I was crunched in my studying and having problems with study materials. They updated the app while I used the materials and it was much better.
I felt obligated to write this review, because I wouldn't be able to score over 700 without Magoosh. Although I didn't spend much time watching the Quant lecture videos, the Verbal lecture videos were extremely helpful; however, what I liked most about Magoosh is that they have a video explanation for every single question.
The platform is very user friendly and easy to navigate. You can also set up mini quizzes based on difficulty, flagged questions, or previous incorrect ones.
The only minor issue I had was the estimated Quant score as it stayed almost the same from the beginning. It was kind of frustrating going into the test, as after solving all the Quant questions, my estimated score was 43-45. I scored 49 on the actual GMAT.
Overall, I highly recommend Magoosh if you want to study at your own pace and can't afford the $1,500+ courses.
I can't recommend Magoosh highly enough. I was extremely nervous about the GMAT after having barely touched math since high school. I was starting from scratch. The lessons were invaluable in explaining the concepts in a clear manner. The hundreds of practice problems are amazing for letting you practice under time pressure while adjusting your difficulty or focusing on specific problem types. Every problem has a video and text solution and allows you to take leave notes for yourself when you review later. I didn't really need help with the verbal but still managed to pick up some good tricks help me improve my CR scores.
After 5 months of prep, I finally took the GMAT and did much better than expected with a 740. I ended up waitlisted and decided to retake it to improve my quant score. I paid for another round of Magoosh premium and focused solely on the problems (along with the GMAT Official Guide and the Manhattan Advanced Supplement). After 5 weeks of studying, I bumped my quant score another 3 points.
For the price it really can't be beat. One downside - their iOS apps are pretty weak. The website is still fairly functional on mobile but not the greatest whenever you have longer text passages. The scrolling gets a bit screwy. Not a big enough deal to make a difference in my opinion.
I struggle with standardized exams, so I purchased Magoosh to help me out. I went up in the math 10 points in 1.5 months from the first time I took the GMAT which was a significant increase. Not having a math class in almost 4 years, I forgot a lot of the topics that were tested on the GMAT. The short videos provided really helped my brush-up on my math. They provide many questions on every topic you will see on the actual exam. Magoosh is also one of the only tutoring sites I looked into that was very affordable. I highly recommended!
I would reccomend Magoosh if you want to get 700 points or below. It´s the best for the price, there are a lot of exercises and the verbal strategies are ok. If you want to get a good basis magoosh is ok, but if you want to get a 800 score, then you will have to look for harder quant exercises after you finish with magoosh.
It is very easy to use and gives some useful insights, after a while you get used to the little harder exercises that magoosh gives, but remember: The practice tests are not 100% reliable, there is always a standar deviation with the real score.
to conclude: great price for a good service, by far the most economical but with a very decent teaching. If you want to get 800 points this will not get you there, its ok for 700 points or around there.
Recomendation:
1. See all the verbal classes videos, the strategies they teach are essential for you to have the fundamentals.
2. take your time, there is a lot of exercises and plenty of useful video classes.
