good facilities

I recently appeared for the GMAT at the Mumbai test centre. While the actual test-day experience was fairly smooth and the staff were professional and cooperative, the slot booking and date selection process was extremely frustrating. The availability system does not seem transparent at all. For long periods, you cannot find a single available slot for an entire month, which creates unnecessary stress while planning your preparation and travel. Strangely, one or two days before the exam date, multiple slots suddenly become available. This makes the whole process feel quite shady and unreliable. Candidates spend weeks checking repeatedly, only to see sudden last-minute openings appear without explanation. Apart from this issue, the centre infrastructure, security checks, and exam environment were decent. However, the scheduling and slot management system seriously needs better transparency and consistency.

SPACE AND FACILITY

Would make the product better:

The staff was talking constantly in background

The facility overall is good and the staff is polite and helpful. However, during my test, there was noticeable background conversation among the staff, which was distracting. A quiet and controlled environment is extremely important for test-takers, so this affected my concentration at times. Improving noise control and ensuring that staff avoid talking near the testing area would significantly enhance the experience. Apart from this issue, the check-in process was smooth, the systems worked well, and the overall setup was comfortable. With better silence and monitoring during exams, this centre can offer an excellent testing experience. The staff was talking constantly in background they can improve this

My overall experience was okay but could be improved. While the staff weren't friendly, their approach inadvertently caused panic and tension among students. Additionally, the quality of stationery, especially the markers, was disappointing and needs significant improvement. The markers were barely functional, making it difficult for students to follow along during sessions. Better training for the staff to handle student interactions more effectively and upgrading the stationery quality would enhance the experience greatly. Improving these aspects would help create a more comfortable, efficient, and productive environment for everyone involved, ensuring that future sessions run more smoothly and are more enjoyable for students.

Overall is a good test center with some strong advantages and many facilities, which help you during your test appointment. The employes were very pollite and really helpful. They gave me specific orders before and after the gmat test. However there are some points of improvement in order to offer a better test experience. Firstly, it wasn't very easy for me to find the entrance of the building in order to reach the test center. I did several rounds arround the building. Moreover, the room where the test takes place should be improved for sure, in order to be more cozy and more friendly for the test taker.

- Was the test center conveniently located?
Yes, it is a bit outside of Hamburg, which is a Plus because there is less traffic. There is also a huge parking garage close to the test center (since the test center has no parking spots)

- Was it easy to find?
Yes, the name of the test center is written on the wall outside.

- Were the staff polite and respectful?
Very polite and respectful, but the instructions were sometimes not so clear. For example: when I went for the bathroom after the 1st section, the proctor told me that he/she already set everything up and that I should just log in. When I did this, the next section started immediatly (which shortened my break from 8 to 3 minutes).

Also, they DON'T bring you new pencils if necessary. You need to get up, leave the room and ask for new pencils (which costs time).

- Were there proper facilities and restrooms?
Everything fine. Very small test center (only 4 seats). No technical issues.

- What was the noise level from external sources (street, lights, A/C, etc)?
The actual test room is next to a larger street with a construction site and due to COVID, the windows had to remain open during the test. But ear plugs helped to reduce the noice, so not a big deal.

- Would you retake the test here?
Yes, but I would adress my expectations at the beginning and ask some things more clearly (to avoid misunderstanding)

It was ok...

I felt the staff were a bit rude, like they were taking the little bit of power they have been given too far.

I also found the palm vein scan a little bit big brother-ish. I appreciate it is to stop people cheating, but it still felt a bit weird.

As for the actual test.....for the all the rules and strictness of it all, they seemed surprisingly lax about people making noise during the test. The actual testing room was not sound proof to noise outside, and the invigilator outside seemed to be having a friendly conversation with someone, which could be heard in full inside the testing room.

Also, I put my hand up for extra scratch paper a couple of times, and no one came.

It was an unpleasant experience. Even the first attempt followed by about 3 months study got merely in vain because of just the marker which was provided in the exam hall. The Pearson 'Lal Bagh' centre is located in the heart of the city. So reaching there was not at all an issue. the exam room was well air-conditioned, the locker was provided, the room was also quite calm. So, there were issues related to the exam hall. But, severe problem arised when i was given the marker.
First of all, the writing board was slippery due to repeated writings. They should have ensured that the writing board is upto the mark which they did not see as their priority. Appearing for the first time, I was not aware of such things. And then comes the mighty marker which would stop working after 20 seconds of inactivity. This time might be the time taken to read the stub of CR or passage of RC.
Then, I complained about the marker to the invigilators. They replaced the marker twice that also did not work as the previous marker. This was too unfortunate as well as unbearable.
So, while choosing the markers, be extra careful and check whether the marker is working properly or not.
Also, use the headphones only if it is suitable for you. I didn't use it because it was so tight.

- Was the test center conveniently located? - Yes, it is exactly located as shown in the Google map. The entrance of the building is at the left of the Kotak Bank.
- Was it easy to find? - Yes. Except the building entrance.
- Were the staff polite and respectful? - Yes.
- Were there proper facilities and restrooms? - Restrooms are okay. No watch to check the time.
- What was the noise level from external sources (street, lights, A/C, etc)? - I could hear people talking in the reception area. Rest all good.
- Why would you retake the test here or in another location? - Closer to my location.

The computer quality is okay. The key board and mouse are new. The table and pen are very annoying. The building seems a bit old and the stairs are scary. The toilet is clean. The noise can be distracting sometimes but bearable with headphones.
The staff is somewhat nice, although a bit unfriendly at first but still helpful overall. The checkin process is quick.
The location is easy to find but a bit far from my place. I may retake the test here because it's pretty inconvenient to take the test at another place. Maybe I'll retake the test in Hanoi.

The test center location is good. But it was very small and we can hear the outside traffic sounds. It's not much but sometimes it can break your focus. The center was also not very clean. AC was working fine and I would recommend to bring in a jacket with you in case you feel cold. Washroom was also very small but it was ok. The staff was polite and helping. Due to the location i would still prefer this center if you giving the test in bangalore. Be sure to keep some things to eat and drink with you.
